Lovely piccies Maggie; I have a fabulous camellia this year, and the forsythia is doing well too, but I wish I had room for a magnolia too. That's some progress in only a few years, well done. :T
Tomato seedling looks good, Nikkster!
Lady Christl are a really good spud. We stock them in the allotment shop as they've become quite popular. Enjoy!
I spent this afternoon down on the allotment, weeding. Thought it might rain as per the forecast, but I was lucky. I may feel less lucky when my hamstrings refuse to help me get out of bed tomorrow morning ... :eek:0 -
Oh dear, are there any other apple or crab apple trees nearby?0

But are all lambs the same? Maybe some are better quality that others.
OH stocked the restaurant with some Asda lamb yesterday, so if she's happy to serve it to paying customers, it should be ok. I usually only buy mince, so can't honestly answer if it's all the same.
Last mince I bought was 7 lari/kilo (this evening), and I do know that's half the price on the UK. Absolutely delicious, though!💙💛 💔0 -

What exercise is suitable, would something like tai chi or Pilates/ yoga which supported posture and muscle awareness help? No idea...just musing?
When I seriously beggered the ligaments in my knee, my physio had to teach me how to walk properly before we could get onto the recovery process. This involved making sure I didn't hyperextend my knees when standing or walking...felt completely wrong at the time, that people would think I was doing a funny walk and completely un natural but it has helped my knee problems and slowed down the arthritis in them.
The same cannot be said for my elbows, especially my crutch side, that hyperextends everytime I put my arm down and so far, I haven't been able to train myself out of it....consequently, I now have symptoms in my elbows.
James has found pole dancing has helped! It has improved his core and because every move is controlled, he is able to control his joints better and is learning how far to go before he dislocates alongside the general strengthening of the muscles surroundings everything.
Swimming is supposed to be good but it isn't for me, I do breast stroke and my shoulders and hips dislocate, I do front crawl and my knees go eek and shoulders dislocate plus the latest thing is do any kind of swimming for longer than a few minutes and my back locks, going into a spasm and I can only move my right hand slightly, leaving me stranded in the middle of the pool, sinking fast!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
What a beautiful garden you have Maggie - I love Magnolia....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

She has registered for an HL ISA.
I have no pension, never had the disposable income for one, never had an employer that did a pension ... and then there comes an age when you're too old to bother starting. Also, EdInvestor said "if you're a lower rate tax payer and your employer doesn't pay in, there's no point starting" ... so I stopped feeling guilty.0 -

Did I miss something? You have a restaurant with Asda lamb? What did that become?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

2.5kg (5 1/2 lbs) crab-apples, washed
6 cloves
sugar (amount set out below).
1. Cut crabbles into quarters without peeling or coring, and put into preserving pan with the cloves and 1.7L (3 pints) water. Bring to boil and simmer gently for about 1 1/2 hours or until the fruit is soft and pulpy, adding a little more water if necessary. Stir from time to time to prevent sticking.
2. Spoon the fruit pulp into a jelly bag or cloth attached to the legs of an upturned stool, and leave to strain into a large bowl for at least 12 hours. [My tip - do not stir or push the fruit through the bag, or it will go cloudy on setting].
3. Discard the pulp remaining in the jelly bag. Measure the extract and return it to the pan with 450g (1 lb) sugar for each 600ml (1 pint) extract. Heat gently, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved, then boil rapidly for about 10 minutes or until setting point is reached.
4. Remove any scum with a slotted spoon, then pot and cover in the usual way.
My Dad has fainted twice after standing for too long; this was found to be low blood pressure, even though he's on tablets for high blood pressure. Best to get it checked out.
Cake or pudding always sets a good tone for a meeting
