Parking Eye lose again in court

The simple explanation ?
Someone called the lawyer and told them not to bother turning up and they fell for it instead of not checking with the court.
I suppose it is simple, you would have to be simple, very simple indeed not to check the validity of some random call.
Yeah I bet...Be happy...;)0 -

I actually agree with Spacey here. I struggle to believe that a professional barrister ( probably earning in excess of £500k a year ) would take a random call and accept its contents unquestioningly. He's a barrister and his job is to question everything.
A barrister would have most likely sat on hundreds of criminal trials, from gangs to fraudsters.
They check everything direct with source, if they did not and could be cobbled with a simple funny phone call they would not be a barrister for very long.
I do hope they Judge has requested the police investigate.Be happy...;)0 -
So some of you are suggesting that this barrister has lied to the court about this 'phone call! I'd be very, very careful if I were you.Je suis Charlie.0

Justice delayed is justice denied. Either there is some major conspiracy - which I'm not prepared to bend my mind around or some small-minded idiot, overawed by the thought that PE had engaged a QC - which is what was being bandied about - (David Altaras is not a QC) and that his presence would "swing it" against the forums decided that he'd make a phone call. Small minded idiot indeed. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Nope, I'm not suggesting for a minute the call didn't take place."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

I would assume that someone called the chambers and spoke to a secretary, claiming to be either the clerk of the court or a named person within Parking Eye out from the solicitor's office. Message taken, seems entirely normal and plausible, no need to check.
I'm guessing they thought that it would be treated as uncontested, without thinking that this would be spotted and turn into a contempt of court matter. Judge is likely to give a severe sentence.
The person involved would best come forward, apologise and look to minimise their time inside. If they wait to be caught, they will get much more severe treatment.0 -

So are you saying there was a 'phone call or there was not?Je suis Charlie.0
