As long as you select "buyer purchased by mistake or changed mind" cancellation will not be classed as a defect.
Anyway, I bit the bullet and ordered the flyers to go out in my ebay orders that I've been faffing about with since January, to try and direct buyers back to my website.
I really hope this is the case, as I have raised two mutuals cancellations this morning. The same buyer who had a genuine reason for not being able to complete.
I have one defect showing as I refunded a buyer for INR and after they left feedback saying I had refunded immediately, I had another INR notification, but insisted on them opening a caseYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
You've never had an account manager on Ebay have you?.
Yes I have, I was a gold powerseller for awhile. I had a co-seller that I used to do some work for, who was the next level up.
The higher you go, the more ebay will jump to your tune. If you're diamond or platinum, they'll sort anything out for you.0 -

TRS - suxs it was never any good. Many used it as a status symbol. just sell an extra few items to make up for the loss of discount on TRS.
negs and 1/2 stars - are now called defects - defects are now ALSO OPEN CASES and neutrals. inr and snad are also defects. You will now be punished/hit with a big stick by defects not just low ratings and negs.
Managed returns = snad - not written in stone yet. but it looks like automatic free returns for buyers. you will use eBay's courier/rm contract to return items. YOU THE SELLER will pay for the return by the buyer.(snad return is a defect)
above is just a quick skim of the changes. Amazing how many sellers are changing there attitude towards ebay this seller update. (people should be looking at the bigger picture and changed there attitudes long ago)
Ebay knows what sellers/buyers will do even before sellers/buyers have decided there plan of action.0 -
A bit of a myth based on a few conspiracy theories. I'd welcome facts to back it up. I'm still waiting for my court fees back from you from another thread;)
Outlets will defiantly get treated differently than other sellers. They will at least have account managers.
Many will have been head hunted and helped to organize there inventory on ebay.
it not in eBay's interest to loose the outlets. It is now there bread and butter. if it ever does happen you will see a change in attitude to smaller sellers.0 -
I can't believe there isn't more uproar on this forum about the managed returns that you will be forced to use soon...potentially that could end the business of some ebay sellers.
Buyers who start SNAD cases will be told to print off a returns postage label (sent to them by ebay) that will then get charged to the seller!
How long before buyers who have simply 'changed their mind' start shouting SNAD as they have realised it's a way to get free return shipping!0 -

At the moment there is no start date for when or if this becomes compulsory and I think when there is then the shouting will start. If the thread is to be believed and ebay favour the huge outlets then I can't see managed returns becoming compulsory as those outlets will lose out as they currently have low cost options in place.
However It will be interesting to see if ebay are going down a route where business and private sellers have completely different sets of rules, as that WILL annoy me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
