Paint or not paint

I quite like it but agree with lavalamp, these are usually stickers not painted and they peel off fairly easily.
It wouldn't stop me buying the house either way, I would probably redecorate to my taste when I moved in anyway.

I'd leave the feature wall (although I don't personally like it) and spend a bit of money on some pots of flowering plants for the back garden and get a new photo done.0

It isn't hiding anything & it isn't structural, leave it.
Or add a photo with the mural photoshopped out (and clearly labelled as such!) so buyers can see the house "without it".0 -
I think I'd leave it - wouldn't put me off; whatever you paint it the new owners would prob change anyway. In fact I'd view the house ... bit too far for us to get to work though!0

I hate them too and agree that often they are stickers rather than painted or stencilled, but if it were me I think I'd leave it in this situation as trying to obliterate it may make matters worse......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

These slogans/ quotes are incredibly fashionable. I'm seeing them all the time. Personally hate them, they give new meaning to word sh[STRIKE]tr[/STRIKE]ite. But it would not affect my intention to buy.
I have edited your post for comic accuracy.
To the OP : IMHO there are a proportion of people who would look at YOUR furniture and think, Yuk, horrid, I couldn't actually live here.
10% maybe? Then there's another 20% who don't want to have to redecorate? Then there's grummpy people who hate that sort of uplifting rubbish and all of them will take one look and run away. :rotfl:0 -

Ah but what is inoffensive wallpaper..... it's all subjective. Though I can't imagine there's too many people get bent out of shape about lining paper.....Make £2025 in 2025

Hi
I am selling my house - for the past 8 months there have been tenants living in it and they have painted a large mural on the wall in the lounge - please see picture on link http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-43351618.html they are moving out shortly and the house will be empty, I will be painting the green room a more neutral colour but wanted thoughts as to whether or not I should paint over the mural - would it put you off? my husband hates it - I'm not fussed but I think the house will be quite bland unfurnished and all painted cream
Thanks
Nat
If the tenants did this, as you say they did, then it really isn't your problem. The tenants need to revert it back to the original decoration before leaving, or you pay to get a decorator in and deduct the cost from their deposit.0 -
I wouldn't paint over it or peel off the vinyl stickers (if it turns out that's what they are) as I think the likelihood is that that will leave marks or show through.
I don't like it myself, but it looks as though it was done fairly well, and it's no worse than if there was a 'feature wall' with patterned wallpaper, or contrasting paints, or any of the other things which are currently fashionable.
I'd only paint if you were planning to paint the whole room - having just one wall with fresh paint would be a much bigger concern to me if I were a potential buyer, as I would be worrying about whether it was covering up damp or some other real problem. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
