The receiver of an item won't be compensated by RM for loss of item

Only the SENDER of the item can be compensated - as the contract is between the Sender & RM and not the receiver.

    not true.
anyway the OP has lost an item, their charge card.
Of course thats assuming the OP hasnt missed the charge item being delivered. Then of course there wouldnt be an item in the DO for them.

All that the OP would get back from RM would be 2x 1st class stamps ---- but only if they have proof of posting that they sent the "charge card" to them (IE post office receipt)

The original missing package can only be claimed for by the sender

    Are you sure ?

The sender or the recipient of the item may both claim for a lost item but only one will be paid compensation. If both claim for the same item then Royal Mail will process only the sender’s claim unless compensation has already been paid to the recipient.

Nope. The OP could still file a claim. They would likely get at least 6 stamps compo

Try telling Royal Mail, eBay or the buyer of an item that when a package goes missing.
Royal Mail have told me many time only the sender of the item can claim - even after having an item go missing last month, RM say to get the sender to start of the claim as the contact lies with them and not me.

the second sender was rm, they sent the op a red card saying they have a parcel/package and pay £xxx if you want it, op accepted the terms and paid £xxx, then rm have lost the parcel/package. rm are liable, and for more than 6 stamps.
