Try telling Royal Mail, eBay or the buyer of an item that when a package goes missing.
Royal Mail have told me many time only the sender of the item can claim - even after having an item go missing last month, RM say to get the sender to start of the claim as the contact lies with them and not me.

Yes,in such a scenario its sensible the sender claims.
Even more so in an Ebay scenario.
However, how would you have the sender claim for the OP?

the second sender was rm, they sent the op a red card saying they have a parcel/package and pay £xxx if you want it, op accepted the terms and paid £xxx, then rm have lost the parcel/package. rm are liable, and for more than 6 stamps.

nope. The OP posted an item to RM,with postage
there never was a package(as i said before) only an underpaid letter

If I was the OP I would be telling Royal Mail.

As for "eBay or the buyer of an item that when a package goes missing" I fail to see what it has to do with GB's case.

    Good luck with that.
When giving your special type of advice.
Did you research the compensation limitations on postal methods?

If it was a Rolex watch or anything similar, then the sender is an idiot for firstly not putting the correct postage on, and secondly not using a more appropriate service, i.e. one which is tracked and insured.

The parcel would have had a return address on it somewhere, so I guess even the Ruddy Monkeys may have that address in their system, which would mean GeeBee could find out who sent it and contact them about a compensation claim or whatever?

Or at least find out what the prize was, so we can all get some sleep.
