I'm delighted by your news Scuffer.
Great initiative on your part and they're local.
They'll be much better primed than your probation officer and be less case-load harrassed, more focussed.

Family repair will happen as and when, or not at all, over which stoicism will become your natural default. No scar-picking, Scuffer. Early days. Do not be looking there right now.

    Bestest Well done! is 'have':-)

If you are still chez la bonne tante and she's a MrT shopper, you need to swing her to being points savvy, for both of you. Loads of Threads on mse. You can do this as well - then build your canny points total by 'wombling' [no, your homework is to search for this info. - loads on Threads, even by moi!]and perhaps getting into YHA nights away without using cash etc.etc.
The other definite devoir is to sign up for your My Waitrose card and know you can rely on that pleasant Free Drink pause in your day. I do a lot of newspaper reading in civilised surroundings that I can't get online[i.e. loathsome Murdoch Times]and won't lay out money for. Good thinking pause and people-watching, plus a free newspaper counted in the £5 spend if you do that. Dear w8r0s are supremely haggle-able near day's end. Also, promos and deals work on their reduced items. You'd run a mile with blushment cheeks were you with me. Hope Aunt and you can enjoy this. I play Mr T and W8r0s in happy tandem.
It's all a great game Scuffer - and you have earnt the right to play and win and you will be ever alive to this now, given your self-inflicted apprenticeship.

Do read moneywaster's Thread - it and he have grown and grown, impressively.
I thought you would like the have ;) can you link me to that thread? I've looked around and cant find it.

Isn't that always the way? You never know though, I once burst into tears after an interview and was still blowing my nose when I answered the call offering me the job.

More specifically how was the conversation about the prison term, if there was one?

The interviewer was really good, i think she has dealt with offenders before. She asked what i had been doing since my last job and i explained that the biggest mistake i have ever made cost me the last 22 months of my life in prison. She asked if i did any courses whilst inside and i told her about gaining my HNC. She then moved on to asking about my own experiences with customer service. She was really good, better than any of the others.

Did she say when she would let you know? Even I am on tenterhooks now! Fingers crossed...
