  • Bit miffed with screenwise. We got a new telly a couple of months ago and as I dont feel confident setting up the equipment, I rang and asked for an appointment for an engineer to come and do it.

I got a garbled message left on my mobile which I had to listen to several times to understand and then waited in when the engineer said he was coming.

    No show!

I have since rung screenwise again and she said an engineer would be in touch but Ive heard nothing.

My OH said.....forget it .....but the points from screenwise are pretty good so going to ring them one last time to see if I can get it sorted.

    Wish me luck.

  • Well I gto through to screenwise and she said that she would organise an engineer to get in touch. She then proceeded to keep asking why two members of the household have not signed up to the mobile screenwise connection. I explained that neither want it on their phones for personal reasons. (Its not been a problem the last few years) but she said that things are getting stricter and the company want every member of the household to be enrolled.

I couldnt see a way round this so said I would no longer be participating which Im gutted about. It was an easy passive way of earning a substantial amount of points per month..

    Hey ho.

Annoying - but look on the bright side at least you're saving yourself the hassle of having an engineer not show up again 😁😁😁

    Hey ho.

Don't get me started on this. Same in my house. Hubby not happy but agreed to have it on his phone. Son turned 13 and they been hassling me to get him on.it. However they can't get it to work on his phone so we have given up for now. I have lost count on hours lost on phone dealing with this and it makes you loose the will to live
  • Yeah so annoying isnt it? I tried and tried to get husband and daughter to agree to have it on their phones but neither would agree to it................the only way I could have got round it was to say they dont have phones at all but never thought of that at the time.

Hi, I have just received an invite to Screenwise Select.  When I heard about this a few years ago I thought that it just recorded your tv with special equipment.  Looking at their email it seems they want your phone recorded too. I don't want it on my phone or desktop computer.  Do you have to have it on there?  I know I could email them to ask but I thought I'd ask on here first before showing my interest to shop and scan.  Many TIA

  • Hi littlewren..........I have been doing screenwise for a couple of years having the equipment monitor our TV viewing.

I put it on my laptop and phone but OH and daughter refused to have it on their phones. Recently I have been pestered to say that everyone in the household needs to participate so I have had to stop being a screenwise select member............in fact I received the envelopes today to post all the equipment back to them.

After doing a bit of research, Ive found out that they now want to monitor everything on your phones including messaging and pictures which I certainly wouldnt be comfortable with so in answer to your question, it depends how much private information you are happy to share.

That's worrying when they want to see my 13 year old usage. I am glad that doesn't work properly

Thank you so much for your reply Kantankrus, I can't believe they want to see messaging and pictures too!  No I wouldn't be happy at all with them seeing my messaging and pictures, what on earth would they want those for?  So no, I won't be joining unless they change it so they just want to see what I watch on tv.
