Well, SOMEBODY has to talk to him - otherwise he's relying on info from mates at school (and we know how well-informed they are likely to be!)

A quick look through Amazon gave some interesting-looking titles, how about "Living With A Willy"
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Living-Willy-Nick-Fisher/dp/0330332481/ref=pd_sim_b_3/202-4242929-2861414?ie=UTF8&qid=1183385505&sr=1-5

or "What's Going On Down There?" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Whats-Going-Down-There-Questions/dp/0802775403/ref=pd_sim_b_1/202-4242929-2861414?ie=UTF8&qid=1183385505&sr=1-5

Available as a set for £9.02 plus P&P
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

If my mum gave me a book on how to live with my willy I'd have died. 12 year olds have an ounce of pride too you know!

I had (basic) sex ed at school when I was 11, surely this is part of the curriculum?

Just leave him to work it all out, I'm sure most blokes grow up fine without having a book thrust at them and subsequently not being able to talk to their mums ever again!

    Sounds perfectly normal.

Poor kid will be embarrassed - just make sure he knows the facts, and isn't relying on info from his mates.

    Totally agree with this.

Millions of men coped before all these books hit the shelfs. Strange how now they are more and more popular so teenage pregnancies increase!

Seriously, just leave the lad to be. He will hear all sorts from his mates but he will learn whats true and whats not. :)

Interesting how us blokes seem to have had the palpatations at the thought of having this book given to them!

(Unless SS has the collection already? ;))

I remember taking my eldest and two of his friends out, when they were all 12.
I found it facinating listening to the conversation going on in the back of the car. Pubes and all other manor of boy talk. :rotfl:
The inocence of it all. Bless

There was another thread a while ago on the same subject. I'll have a look for it.

Agree with what the others have said, its perfectly normal. In fact, you'd be worrying if he didn't get erections and was chatting up boys!

He'll never stop obsessing about sex. Show me a man who isn't and I'll show you a liar.

I have a 13 yr old and yours sounds perfectly normal :)

    as does your OH

don't be embarrassed about talking to him yourself though

I talk to my son (but have done for many years) quite openly and answer any questions he has

It's much easier the younger you start, my son used to run in the bedroom in the morning aged about 6 shouting 'look how big it is this morning mum' :rotfl:
