I'm sorry, I just find it annoying the amount of people on here that try to get out of parking fines, they are there for a reason so just accept that you have done something wrong

Also, how would you know if they owned the land or not?

Because UKCPS own nothing apart from a porta cabin behind a pub! And you simply have no idea what you are talking about, they are not fines or penalties, if you had even any idea you would know about this.

Now either stick around and learn, or simply sod off this thread as people are trying to help the OP of the thread!

Think of it like ringing AAAAAA Plumbers and getting charged £100 for a bit of putty over a leak.

I'm all in favour of fair and reasonable charges, but most of the time these forms are not interested in managing car parks, they only are interested in issuing tickets. A surprisingly high number of tickets here are the result of deliberate deception and issued to be genuine users. In my case, my wife was perfectly entitled to park but they still claimed I hadn't got grounds for appeal.

Under the law they are operating under it is unlikely that most of them could charge more than a few pounds.

Take a look at one of the police series on TV, see how many times people get 3 points and a £35 fine for a really serious motoring criminal offence, why is £100 for a trivial problem OK?

Because unlike you, we know what we are talking about. UKCPS are notorious on these forums for sharp practice and don't own any car parks except maybe the bit of tarmac their caravan apparently sits on, round the back of the Blooming Rose pub in Leeds. These companies are leaches on other people's land - a much worse problem in the UK than someone's innocent parking error.

Ok, I can understand if it was £100 fine for parking there would be unfair, but a £30 fine would be a way of learning your lesson and not being punished too hard.

Surely they have permission to give out fines for the land, otherwise wouldn't Tesco do something about it?

If where OP parked was obstruction something, then I would say the fine is fair.

It's not a fine! And they are not asking £30, they ask upwards of £100 for having the audacity of parking in a free car park, where is the loss? Because under contract law they can only claim that, which comes to the next point, they must prove that loss!

And they cannot punish anyone, that would be illegal, do you think that a private company has the ability to punish you ? If the answer is yes, them you are utterly deluded, now begone as we try and help the OP of the thread!

No private firm or person can issue fines - it is unlawful.

These companies work rather like a protection racket - they approach the landowner, or retailers nationally, who are told/encouraged to believe that they have a parking problem and that disabled bay abuse in private car parks is 'rife' (because the Daily Mail wrongly says it is...and the Baywatch scheme pretends it is...). On a local basis you can just imagine HOW that can have presented itself in the weeks leading up to the 'pitch' - can't be too difficult to create a problem if it's just one small car park.

And so Mr Supermarket CEO - who has been genuinely concerned about how to 'police' disabled bays and other things to do with parking - is thrilled to hear from some plausible 'suit' that 'ParkingScamsRUs' is prepared to 'mismanage' all their car parks across the UK for free. WOW what a bargain!

Before they know it, the Supermarket is stuck with the racketeering - look at the threads about the Co-op currently scurrying to pay off people's fake PCNs at £150 a pop, because their PPC has decided to frighten & intimidate Co-op customers with court claims this week. This is happening to genuine Co-op customers who will have got an invoice (dressed up to impersonate a parking ticket, but it is ONLY and invoice really) for spurious reasons - such as that they overstayed.

Which if you are old, pregnant, injured, ill, infirm, disabled or with young children - or held up in the queue at Christmas - can be very easy to do and not a 'crime' worthy of even paying 30p, let alone your contention that they should pay the NON-LANDOWNING protection racketeer £30!

Hope the penny is beginning to drop? Stick around!

    Good evening All.
I just wanted to Thank You all for your help. I received a cancellation letter for my PCN, and they assured on the letter that the matter is now closed on their systems.
Do i need to take any action or let the DVLA or BPA know as they did not respond to my email.
