To ParkingEye,
I am writing to you with regards to PCN Ref No xxxxxxxx. I am the registered keeper of the vehicle and was issued with this PCN. As keeper, I am fully entitled to appeal, as defined in para 22.14 of the BPA Code of Practice. The driver will not be identified in this appeal process and I have given below all the information I am prepared to include at this stage, so do not send me a template 'holding' reply. I require either a rejection letter and POPLA code or a letter confirming cancellation of the PCN, as your response.
In said PCN, you claim that the vehicle was parked longer than the appropriate parking time but as you can see on the enclosed photocopies of your PCN and the parking ticket, the driver actually left the car park 22 minutes before the parking ticket expired.
I require you to thoroughly check the records of the machine that issues the parking tickets to ascertain whether the licence plate details may have been entered into the machine incorrectly in error. I suspect you have overlooked a small typo.
Show me your 'manual review/quality check' records for that car park on that day, relating to the hour of arrival. If you will not show this to me then you will have to show it to POPLA anyway, where I will also require you to explain how the charge of £85 is accumulated. There is no genuine loss that would account for anything remotely close to this amount.0 -
now you have your reference number in both posts, please edit both posts , lol

And - well done for getting this achieved today, it's another step towards getting this cancelled.
Have you seen this?

See what the 'Excel spokesperson' says to the BBC about how they do a manual check for typos in car reg numbers!
''we do recognise that motorists may input an incorrect digit(s) of their VR number when purchasing a P&D ticket and as such our processing allows for a manual review/quality check of PCN’s before they are issued. Unfortunately, on this occasion our check failed ''PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Make sure you put them straight!
Your thread made me smile, glad to see you got there in the end :rotfl:.
Don't be surprised if/when PE reject your appeal, but know for sure that this can be killed at POPLA.All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
Phew and a smile indeed!
You now have a little time to do some research regarding POPLA appeals.
Remember the appeal will be in the format of
"The regisered keeper " and no contract was made with the "driver" on the day - and no slip ups with personal info - spyeye monitors this forum.0
