  • I spoke to my sister tonight and a colleague of hers has gone through exactly the same thing in same car park so will wait to hear her outcome. I always own up if my fault, even if handed too much change in shops etc but think they should be aware were only human and not perfect.

    Hahaha aw bless ya thankyou.

I was gonna just send a very honest letter saying completely my fault that I mistakenly entered wrong digits in my haste, admit being a twerp but showing how Id not only paid in full but left early too and had proof of both
    What do you think?

no , for one simple and compelling reason YOU ARE NAMING THE DRIVER

you can respond with the RK template , you can even add the driver had mistakenly input the wrong reg and ask them to check their records at the times on your ticket, scan it and add it to your appeal as RK

    but not

I mistakenly input the wrong reg no

substitute THE DRIVER for the word I

admit nothing, but give PE the chance to cancel it because they are one of the few companies that will do so given the right circumstances

otherwise you will easily beat this at popla with forum help
  • Morrisons store not that close but I could try emailing manager. Am imagining theyll say its out of their hands. Its srange its such a big car park but always empty, now I know why.

Complaining in person to the manager of Morrisons is of course an excellent idea, which you should do anyway, as that could/should stop the nonsense dead in it's tracks.

Show the manager the ticket you paid for and any Morrison's receipts you have.

But we must be prepared for logic not going to work where Parking Eye are concerned.

I must caution you against admitting / informing anyone who the driver was on the day in question.

Start thinking along the lines of using the term 'The driver made a mistake.' - rather than saying 'I made a mistake.'

You need to be complaining / appealing in the first instance as the owner / registered keeper of the vehicle only.

Don't wait too long, also make sure the sister's colleague sees the linked examples 'How to win at POPLA' in post #3 of the 'NEWBIES' sticky thread or she could lose spectacularly if she thinks it's about writing about what happened. Please make sure your sister tells her that mitigating circumstances in a POPLA appeal = she'll lose; but a forum appeal = she'll win.

You need to submit a first appeal to the PPC within 28 days and you can use the template appeal in the NEWBIES thread - PPCs have been cancelling when they get it and I only wrote it the other week. You could add a point 4 that 'the driver paid and displayed but they accidentally got the second part of the car reg wrong - please find attached copy of the P&D ticket showing that no breach nor loss occurred.'

Easy for you and the colleague to win, this happens all the time. We see cases like this about once a month. And we win EVERY time at POPLA stage.

    as above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    DO NOT WAIT

you cannot wait for somebody elses outcome or its too late to deal with it for yourself

the clock is ticking, so do as coupon-mad says and get that appeal in good and early, with a scan of the ticket and the extra sentence about what the driver did blah blah

time is of the essence here , so no tardiness :)
  • Haha dont worry I was gonna write it tomorrow and send it recorded delivery. Im more concerned that theyll drag their heels at the other end.
That template will come in very handy.
