Oh and their name badges too ! - So instead of lowering their prices to be more competitive or investing in their website so that it actually works...good old M & S has decided to spend £1000's on changing their staff uniforms again!!!!!!. I got rid of my shares some years ago but if I were a shareholder I'd be asking some serious questions !!!!!0

Ordered a christmas gift online for my mother - Sunday 7th December - The actual process took and get this 45minutes to order one item. The system is badly designed, has flaws that kick you out requiring starting the process again and get this after several attempts it then decided to remember my previous efforts and my shopping bag had multiple items, even though the step before had an empty bag!
So anyway finally the deed is done, no options on delivery ONLY standard delivery, I then get the confirmation email, time goes by 1 week to be precise, where is my order......? Follow the link to the website - The item is still in dispatch mode! So I phone customer service, they've been experiencing a few problems with their system, nice chap, but nothing he can do. 1. The item cannot be cancelled, or modified, 2. The delivery date is 18th December yes this is 11 days after order. Come on M&S are you a stalwart of the UK highstreet or a Micky Mouse enterprise? It is completely unfathomable that a company the size of M&S can perform so poorly. Go to Next - order before 9pm FREE next day delivery, go to John Lewis 24-48hours, I purchased from the Apple Store this week, free delivery 24 hours later and guess what that order was taken at 7pm!
So what is the problem, quite simply M&S are fit for one purpose and that is high street retail, they are not equipped and have not aligned their customer experience for the 21st century. Sadly to say I agree with other comments, and M&S will undoubtedly see a huge dip in profits next quarter and if they don't do something very quickly the down turn could be a long drawn out affair.......You hear it here be very worried.0 -
Like Jools70, and I guess many others, I am having problems with the Christmas delivery. Ordered most of my family's presents from them on the 5th and the only option is delivery by the 17th. I assumed that would mean it was the latest it would be delivered, and they were covering their own backs just in case, but here we are at the 15th and they are still awaiting despatch. If they arrive after the 18th I will not be at the delivery address.
I called this morning and the advisor can tell me nothing more than the website does, other than they will "most likely" be despatched tomorrow to arrive the following day, the 17th. She said it was ok, as if they did not arrive I could call up and they would then despatch them that day to be with me the next day at an address of my choosing. The only thing is that just about everything I ordered is now showing as an out of stock item, and she agreed that this would mean I would not receive them. So, I guess I may well be starting my christmas shopping all over again on Thursday, and this time I will not be going near M&S. Shocking lack of organisation from such a huge company.0
