Marks & Spencer New Website Disaster!

Now had call back from Customer Services. Order placed and ready for collection on Friday (could not collect tomorrow as too late for today's ordering deadline )If it's cheap, I'm cheerful!0

When viewing on the IPad, I can't read the reviews. You have to tap for ages before it responds. I am a tall lady and buy from m&s on a regular basis but I have to confess it is a lot quicker to shop on the Next website. So, unless things change, that is where I will be buying from.0

I've been shopping online with M&S for quite a while with no problems until they changed their website. My first order was to pick up in store but I got an email that said there was a technical problem and my item would be available for collection on Wednesday instead of Monday. Ok, not really a problem. So on Wednesday I turn up to collect and they can't find my parcel after several minutes and their system playing up they found out my order had been cancelled the day before but they didn't know why o they phoned whoever they need to and they didn't know why the order had been cancelled but I had been refunded and apparently 'slipped through the net' with a notification email. Just placed an order for sale stuff and will wait to see what happens this time......0

I've not tried to use the new website yet but I'm hoping that they will now have live stock availability. It has been a nightmare ordering during the sales over the past few years. The website didn't update once items were sold and in many cases nearly all of my order would be cancelled.
Their website has been run by Amazon for the past few years and that agreement has just ended. There's an interesting article here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/10647939/Marks-and-Spencer-launches-new-website-to-replace-Amazon-platform.html
Apparently they recruited a former Tesco executive to develop the new website. What on earth were they thinking :eek:0 -
I didn't know they had changed there site until I spotted this thread. So I checked the new site out and I must say I am not that impressed. Quite slow and I am on broadband infinity, but the worst thing is the images.... really not good. Don't they understand that when buying clothes on line it is first and foremost about good images and second about good descriptions... which were also lacking as well on the products I looked at. I certainly was not inspired to do some shopping.0

I am another M&S shopper who really hates the new web site. I managed to place an order for some sale items, but it took forever. Things I put in my basket kept disappearing, I was so frustrated that I just put anything I may be interested in, in my basket and checked out before any of it disappeared!
I had 10 items in my basket, but at checkout there were only 7. Checked later and the 3 items that disappeared were all still available!
I was due to pick the order up yesterday, but lo and behold I received no less than 7 identical emails telling me that my order will not be in store until Saturday.
This will be my last online order, I can do without the hassle. Marks need to listen to their customers while they still have them! :mad:0 -
To be honest they were so short sighted in signing such a long contract with their previous provider, I did wonder if their lack of tech savviness would impact on the new offering...0

I hate it too - it's so slow......
& when I had to reset my password after filling my basket I just gave up.
Virtually every other retailer manages to have a decent, usable website, so what's happened here?0 -
Don't they use Amazons back end/fulfilment for orders?0

They used to. That contract ended recently - and M&S have developed their own replacement, in-house I believe.
