No need for any fuss.
No it didn't work like that - for me.
I started again just like you said but the cashier pointed out the Tesco voucher said one transaction - and what I had was 2 transactions.
One for something like 85 litres and a second one for 15 litres.
I can't remember the exact numbers, but the total was 100 and I'm sure you get my drift.
I could only get money off the first 85 litres.
I saw it as a matter of principal to complain that Tescos were offering money off up to an impossible to get 100 litres.
I only had to create a little fuss.0 -
Just to add, if you buy a metal Jerry can, you'll also need a "Highly flammable Petroleum Spirits" hazard diamond sticker, or you face the possibility of being turned away from the forecourt.
I recently bought one, they're the absolute best thing if you don't want leaks when pouring.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The Regulations put a limit of no more than 2 x 5 litres plastic containers, which have to be of an approved design, and no more than 2 x 10 litres metal containers, which should be marked with the words "PETROLEUM SPIRIT HIGHLY FLAMMABLE";
It doesn't say either/or so I read it as 2x10 litres and 2x5 litres so 30 litres in total.

I used to have an ex army Landrover that had metal fuel tanks under both front seats and you lifted the seat cushion to access them. Some forecourts refused to turn the pumps on as they couldn't believe you could have fuel tanks in the cab.
Nice smell afterwards though.0 -

Well it was an a military vehicle. Probably the safest place to put fuel tanks too.0 -

I'm curious. How does a sticker prevent leaks when pouring?0 -

My ex-mod landrover has built in lockers for 4 x 20l jerry cans. I've filled 2 20l metal jerry cans at my local Sainsburys with diesel before and nobody batted an eye lid.
They did not have any stickers on them etc.0 -

I thought he meant he rolled the sticker up to use as a funnel when pouring.0
