Looked at passport website, rung 24 hr helpline and booked appt for Tues JIC

I know this isn't going to help right now, but make sure that you put them all into a folder or drawer once you found/replaced it, so that you never lose it again! My OH is totally, scarily organised, he insisted that we do this and it saves sooo much time. (Of course, I appreciate that you don't have OH's help with this - really admire you for coping so well!)

Are you 100% sure you haven't needed to use it as proof of ID for anything, and have you looked with the birth certificates?

I've managed to catch DS's cold, so feeling a bit sorry for myself, had lots of Lemsip and feeling a little better now.

I managed to fix the wobbly loo seat earlier on today (why is it that we only ever get around to fixing things like this when we are about to move?), it's been wobbly for about 3 years, ever since OH stood on it to replace the light bulb and broke it and the light fitting which fell on the floor and shattered into about a million pieces...

Also S&S'd the bathroom sink into a state of shinyness that even FlyLady would find obscene. Wonderful to have it lookign so nice again.

The survey was done on our house yesterday, and only a couple of minor DIY jobs need doing, so will try to get those sorted in next few days. Been filling in all the forms for solicitors today. OH and I are going to decide on new mortgage tomorrow - all very exciting. Maybe house move will finally happen after 3 years or more of talking about it.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Now off to do the washing up...

At last, beautiful sunshine today! Not feeling great this morning, but better after lunch, so we all went into town. The Tour de France is coming this way tomorrow, and there are loads of special activities on. We had a lovely time wandering around the Italian, English and Franch markets, listening to all the different music groups, and then had tea, scones and strawberries which were being provided free by one of the city centre churches.

Tomorrow afternoon we'll be going down to watch. As we live quite close to the route, there won't be much chance of going anywhere by car!

That will be pretty much an entire weekend of 'me' time, although I have shared it with the children! I sneaked an hour or so in the greenhouse and garden, so I guess that is just for me!

And to salve my guilty conscience, I have also done some shopping, and washed the entire contents of the laundry bag.

    Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Cut the back grass again this afternoon, I can't believe how much it has grown in two days. I suppose all that rain and then a little bit of sun and BOOM! Did the edge again with a spade too, that was creeping over the path - it's surprising how much difference that makes. Swept it all up - with a little help from the cats.

Then I had a little sit down while re-reading Harry Potter (the Half Blood Prince) ready for the next one out. I'm getting it bought for me but I can't have it until next month (birthday) so I hope nobody tells me the end before I get to it!

DH watched the Tour de France in London on television for five hours. He's tired now.....

Put on a bit of the concert but James Blunt came on so I had to leave the room.

nearlynewbie welcome :) yes, I'm everywhere, proves I've done very little flying today as been too busy posting :o

Mermaid sounds like everything is going nicely :) hope the cold goes soon.

Done not a lot else. Laundry can be put away when I put the boys to bed, got to sort out stuff as trying DS1 at fishing again tomorrow, unsure if me or DP are taking him yet. Going to grab the washing in as DP is a mile away and it's started raining there, handy early warning!!

Pollybear my lawns haven't been cut for over a month so imagine what state they are in, hoping to get it done tomorrow!

There is a farmers market on about 20 miles from me but resisting the HUGE temptation to go as my cupboard and freezer are full, will only buy what I don't need :o

Oh grabbed 20 minutes or so me time earlier, DS1 was upstairs and DS2 was playing out the front and Red Hot Chilli Peppers came on on the Live Earth concert, so slobbed on the sofa enjoying the music :D
One day I might be more organised...........

:rotfl: I would've had to do the same.

Not done a great deal since I last posted. Put the world to rights on the phone with my Mother and then my favourite cousin. B** all on the goggle box to entertain me tonight and feeling a bit aimless and energyless. Hmm what to do?

Yep you are right and pre June last year everything was in it's place. I shall make sure the found/replaced passport and the others (which are safely at mum's right now!) are put away properly when we get back form hols. Just glad Dad asked for them now to do the echeck in otherwise we might not have known until a couple of days before we were due to go. Being organised is cheaper too, it's going to cost £80 plus fuel plus parking to get it replaced so I am really hoping I am sat here reporting in that I have found it in the next 24 hours.

Don't remember using it for ID, the only thing was sorting pensions for us all from DH's work but don't recall sending passports for that. Will keep rattling the ole grey matter.

Hope the lemsips are kicking in and you feel better soon.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions/support it's just all felt a tad overwhelming today but you all helped me though.

Solway if you are still feeling aimless you could help me by uncorking that bottle on the side in the kitchen and pouring a large glass each for us all :D

Just found out where the pong in the kitchen has been coming from. Seems a piece of fruit (of indetermine origin) had fallen out of the composting bin and into a tall vase behind it. When I found it tonight it had become home to about a million fruit flies and their wriggling offspring:eek:

Scrubbed it all and doused it in bleach. It now contains the flowers that OH and DD bought me as I'm feelinmg poorly. Even more poorly after seeing that!

Hope everyone has a better evenign than mine!

Mine's a nice full bodied red, please. Large if possible. In fact, just pass the bottle...

And I'll have a large chilled white -- not TOO dry -- to drink in the garden as it 's still not raining!

At least you found out what the smell was, Mermaid, and it could have been a lot, lot worse.

Anw's mum -- sometimes in my house we find important things pushed between books on the shelves where we have cleverly hidden them from burglars and then forgotten. Just a thought. I lose things all the time and it drives me mad.
