i did go to college and got some nvq's never went to uni or anything so would i be classed as a undergraduate? i left college when i was 17. i want to do something to do with computers i have nvq level 1 and 2 in business management so not sure what i could do as i dont want to repeat what ive already done

Steph - anyone studying with the OU is an undergraduate whatever their strating qualifications. It's different to other universities in that you do not have to have certain grades to start.

If interested in computing then these are the short courses available. ( You need a total of 300 points for an ordinary degree and 360 for honours but can spend as long as you like studying with them - I had one student who took 10 years)

Short courses at Level 1
These short courses with a variety of start dates may also serve as an alternative starting point for a qualification.

Beyond Google: working with information online (TU120)
10 points May 2008 £165

Design and the Web (T183)
10 points May 2008 £165

Robotics & the meaning of life: a practical guide to things that think (T184)
10 points May 2008 £165

Vandalism in cyberspace:understanding and combating malicious software (T187)
10 points May 2008 £165

these 10 point courses only take a few months so it is possible to do one in February, another in May, another in October for example.

thanks needtoearnmoremoney thats been a great help i'll sign up in the morning im cleaning my bedroom at the moment because im not tired im staying at my fellas tomorrow night and im not sure if im staying on saturday night i'll let him decide that bit lol. my bedroom takes ages its 17 foot long by 8foot wide!! nearly done now though

I can't sleep either, I can't relax. OH is back off exercise tomorrow so I'll be able to speak to him for the first time all week. I've been feeling sad, but now I'm feeling a bit excited. Driving up to see him tomorrow when I finish work, so I've packed and I'm ready to go! Not looking forward to the 4 hour drive though, I hope the weather isn't too bad.

not had a good day today, firsdtly joshua couldn't go to school, due to no transport, not really such a big deal overall.
then daniel's school rings to say he has had a major tantrum, assaulted members of staff, damaged school property and staff cars. took three adult males to restrain him. they have excluded him for three days, and i'm expected to cope alone with him again. i know i'm his mum and i love him dearly, but i just want a break from caring, would love a week off, but its not going to happen. instead i'll cancel all my appointments and carry on alone as always. sometimes feels there is no way out, and i'm fed up of living like this

aww shaz sorry to hear your not having a good time is there anything i can do?

meyore i only see my bloke for 1 day at the weekend as he works nights but i get to txt him in the evening if he's not too busy and then he lets me know when he's home safe so i dont worry about him. im going to see him tomorrow afternoon too my mum said she would do my deliveries in the evening for me so i can go and see him
