Emma!!
I hope you find the love and support you need here. In fact you will!
There are a lot of people here in the same situation and at the very least it is calming to know that you are not alone
Shaz - 3 people is a bit too scary for me!!Dream of being mortgage free....

Hi Emma,
Been reading what you've written and its quite similar to me. I was diagnosed with severe depression in Nov '06 when I was 20 and was also told that id had it about 10 years and untreated for that long it would be hard.
I didnt tell my dad I was off work with D. as I knew his thoughts on it. When I finally told him I also pointed him in the direction of netdoctor.co.uk which has a section for people living with sufferers of depression. It states on there that comments like 'snap out of it' etc dont help, if depressives could snap out of it they would.
I took mirtazapine last November. I was on it two weeks before coming off. I had increased appetitie and put on about a stone in two weeks  I also got aggressive on them and felt sick a lot! AD work differently for different people so if you dont feel good on them go to the GP straight away. My first AD was escitalopram which gave me suicidal thoughts, but I thought this was a common side affect, my dr was very worried when he found out and changed me asap. Keep a note of any side affects and talk to your dr about them. I'm currently on my 4th different AD (lofepramine) and even that may need to change in two months. If Mirtazapine isnt for you dont worry there are loads to try.
Anyways Im here if you want to chat

Well Done on 5 days. Thats a great achievement. I know what you mean about being desperate to do it, but your post is so positive. Its great that you don't want to depend SH'ing. Have you got a few things to distract yourself? I've got a list of things I do before I SH. Its written in order, and its just simple things like - watch a TV program, go for a short walk, phone a friend. I try to do these things before I SH. So far, so good.
I have been trying to preoccupy myself, and i have so much work to do at the moment i dont really have too long to dwell on anything, which is good. Take today for example, I was reading and making notes all morning, and then I've been in the practise rooms 4-7 tonight so I've been pretty busy, which means I have less time to do it, if you get me?Healthy eating is a great, positive step too. I've seen a great improvement in my mood since cutting out sugar. Keep us informed about how you are getting on, sometimes its hard to resist eating unhealthy things. I find that having a big bowl of yummy apples on hand helps. Fuji apples are my current favourite. I'm a size 18 at the moment. I was a size 24 at my heaviest! I bought a gorgeous size 14 top from the Charity shop yesterday, looking forward to getting in that.
Congrats on the weightless. I'm feeling deflated now, because since I post that I've had such a terrible day eating! I went into town with my flatmates at lunch and I got a Happy Meal from McDonalds, so that's 485 cals. Then I've had a massive roast chicken and veg for tea, plus a milky way bar and some marshmallows! Argh, i'm so huge :mad:still, I'm going to try and concentrate on tomorrow being okay.
How are you this evening?

2 months seems like a very long time. What is sociophobia? Sorry to be dumb!!
Hi,
Because I have a problem with talking about things and going places, Im usually a wreck the week before and the week after an appointment. Two months is good for me
As for sociophobia, I stole this off netdoctor:
"The main criteria for a clinical diagnosis of social phobia is listed as:
'A marked and persistent fear of one or more social or performance situations in which the person is exposed to unfamiliar people or to possible scrutiny by others. The individual fears that he/she will act in a way that will be humiliating or embarrassing.' "
I havent been able to hold a job for more than 6 weeks as I am a mess around people. Even around my own family, I am nervous around them and get very emotional and want to escape. As you could tell going out is difficult, I tend to go on less busier days. If town is busy I get panicky, then angry and agressive:( Im generally just not good around people, school was hell, never went out with mates and always hid in a corner or in my room.Win £2008 in 2008 member's club number 302008: Iguana, 2 x Cadbury DVD, 3 x Book, Mascara, Chubby Brown DVD, Asterix Wii Game, 3 Beanie Hats, Bag, Armband,

Hello,
Diets are murder! My dad hated when I was on a diet because I used to get angry and agressive because I wanted a Twix bar lol. Was not allowed to diet at home in the end. I once had an eating disorder and because Im quite obsessive Im scared to diet again just incase I get obsessive over losing weight and end up like I did again.
I'm good today as meeting went well. How are you feeling? xWin £2008 in 2008 member's club number 302008: Iguana, 2 x Cadbury DVD, 3 x Book, Mascara, Chubby Brown DVD, Asterix Wii Game, 3 Beanie Hats, Bag, Armband,

Hi Diamond :hello:
How are you feeling? I bet it was good to get some of that off your chestYou're definitely in the right place
As for you son wanting to sleep in a room with you, Im not suprised bless him. Thats a lot of traumatic events for him to take in at a young age. My brother wouldnt sleep in his room either, still has problems at 14. To sleep in his room alone, a light has to be on and the dog has to be in there with him. He is also prescribed sleeping tablets or he will stay up all night with worry. When he was about 4 dad would take him to bed and lay with him until the sleeping tablets kicked in. Have you spoken to you doctor about it, he might be able to suggest some techniques.
Take care
