  • :hello: to all the new posters. Hope you find this thread helpful.

Well 2008 is here and I've already messed up. My self-harm is quite bad atm. One of the cuts is fairly deep-looks horrible. I put a dressing on it last night and a new one this morning but it bleeds everytime I change it.

I'm seeing my social worker tomorrow but I can't tell her just how bad it is for fear of being admitted to hospital again.

    Hi RBK

I'm quite new to this thread  so i don't know if this has been mentioned before or anything. You can get Steristrips on prescription from your doctor. It's always handy to keep some in for the deeper cuts (saved me several visits to A&E in the past). My GP is really good and lets me have them on repeat as and when i need them.

Look after your harms. Hope it went ok with the social worker.

    Hi there
Well I went to docs on weds and he has signed me off work for 2 wks and put me back on Citalopram 20mg. My boss just rang, and asked how I was, feel so guilty for being off work............ but I know I need time out to get myself sorted............. I dont even like my job, been there 12 yrs, want a change, but the moneys good, whats worse is Im 40 soon, lfe begins and all that.
    God my minds a shed!
Glad you've been to the docs, hope you start 'picking up' soon. You have no need to feel any guilt for being off work...would you feel guilty if you had appendicitis? ...sure you wouldn't, and depression is just as debilitating (or more so) than any physical illness, so just take the time to get yourself well again xx

A man is driving home, when is pulled over by a patrolman for a broken blinker. The cop looks into the guys' car and sees a collection of knives in the backseat.
"Sir," the cop says. "Why do you have all those knives?"
"They're for my juggling act," the man says.
"I don't believe you," says the cop. "Prove it." So the man gets out of his car and begins juggling the knives. At the same time, a car with two guys in it drives by.
"Man," says the first guy. "I'm glad I quit drinking. These new sobriety tests are hard."

    :rotfl:

Was it that bad, guys? Safe journeys everyone.;)

:j morning all, after been so down for so long over my ex, i have changed my phone numbers, so he can no longer contact me, so thats made me feel bit more positive today.
have also booked myself a guitar lesson for monday when kids go back to school, have my daycentre to look forward to next tues, aromatherapy massage next weds, and see my counsellor next thurs, so some "me time" to look forward to, afer caring for sons for last two weeks without so much as an hour respite.
my counsellor who i spoke to on phone last night, is also going to get me some legal help as far as social services are concerned too. looking after two severly disabled children who need full time care, is affecting my mental health, and they should legally be providing help, we shall see.
i like the brain training too, katie, i like to challenge myself to improve my scores.
big hugs to every one that needs one or wants one
