I know I did something similar with my doctor once. Obviously they're not going to be perfect, but I think it you are getting high scores then it's quite likely you are depressed. Although if you're wondering whether you are depressed or not then you're probably not as bad as it's trying to say. And also if you are really badly depressed then generally you have no motivation to do anything, so the fact that you're able to take the test is a good sign :)

    Hi maisie!:hello:
    How's you hunnie?
Thanks for the reply angel but I think we got our wires crossed. The quote you gave below is from a post by spikey, who had asked about this med. I quoted his post in black in my reply - sorry for the confusion sweetie.:o

I'm not taking it myself hun.;) Thanks for going to all that trouble though. I'm sure spikey will appreciate it.

There should be a leaflet inside all boxes of meds that explains all of this guys. There again, you'll only know if a med is for you when you try it under medical supervision.

    Hope all is well angel.hug.gif

Goldberg's depression test ...................... You have reached level 55 on the Goldberg scale.
    0 - 9 Depression unlikely 21 - 35 Minor to moderate depression 10 - 17 Possibly minor depression 36 - 53 Moderate to severe depression 18 - 21 On the verge of depression 54+ Severe depression
You have the symptoms of severe depression.
The condition seems to cause serious problems in your everyday life, and you should consult your doctor immediately.Depression is a disease like any other disease, and it can be treated very effectively. Recognising that you are suffering from depression is the first positive step. If you are depressed, you should arrange to see your doctor to talk about the illness right away. You may also want to raise the issue with your friends and family. You should look for support from these people you until you get well. Anyone can suffer from depression, and the symptoms can vary from person to person. Treatments, including medication and psychotherapy, have a very high success rate.

    Hi spikey!:hello:
That's the trouble with these tests angel - you'll find a few hundred all over the web, so it's always best to go and see your dr. Imho, the most important part of your quote was the penultimate sentence, which I've put in bold type because it's so true.

If you're already feeling low and you're looking for all the answers from these tests, you'll probably be none the wiser and scare yourself to pieces as well.;)
If you're worried hun, go and check in with the dr. They use a standard test and they will also know your medical history too.;) It's all needed to make up an accurate picture angel. Hope this helps hun.hug.gif

    What an awful day :(
I could tell it was going to be a bad day so I thought going on the coffee morning might have been the best thing to do, you know get out for a bit, have some company etc?

I managed to act ok while I was out - held back any tears and so on.

However pretty much as soon as I got back in I just burst into tears and couldn't stop crying. I was sobbing like a little baby. I am so pathetic!!!
I even contacted my Fiance. I know I shouldn't have - what's he meant to do? He's at work and now he will just be more worried about me!

I was crying so much I was all worked up and my head was hurting and I felt sick and I couldn't breath properly as my nose had all blocked up and was running everywhere too. What a bloody pathetic sight - glad no-one called in!!!

I went to bed for a few hours, couldn't sleep much though as was finding it hard to breath and had 3 coffees this morning.
Did get a couple of hours though.

Now I am up, my head still hurts, I am still tired and now I am starving but simply cannot push myself to get anything to eat. :(

    When will this ever end?
Am I destined to go on like this forever??? All I am doing is making life harder for everyone else.

Dad is sooooooo worried about me - he is scared work will sack me for having too much time off and he keeps going on about all of the debt we are in and how will we manage if I lose my job - but I just can't think about that right now. :(

I am weak. I am a failure. How did it ever come to this?

All I ever wanted was to make my parents proud.
All I ever seem to do is cause them to worry.

    :(

You are having suicidal thoughts. This is a serious warning sign, and you must seek help quickly.

hew dawnylou. try an chill out . you had a bad night so dont expect too much of yourself. get wrapped up and get out in the fresh air for half hour, blow away the cobwebs. you are NOT fat and ugly. how you feel at the moment is nothing to do with how you look.

Thank you for being nice to me - but you do not know what I look like so you cannot say I am not fat or ugly.

hi johnroberts07 how are you finding the fluoxitine dont think its helping me much
omg i did that test thingy too and that came out 55 but then i am having a sh+t day
i just want to cry but i dont want my little un to see me in a mess, is not fair on him, so i avoid him which is probably one of the worse things i can do
  • I always think im ugly, people tell me im quite good-looking but i never believe them, or think im good enough. Its all part of the illness

I am the same with my pups Chelly. Awful isn't it?
I should be locked up on my own where I cannot take things out on others.
I love my pups so much. They don't deserve to be shouted at when the wind is alarming them!! :(
    I'm such a horrible person!!!
