Ethel--I'm sorry to say that I'm not 'au fais'(sp?) with your family situation....but is there not a juvenile CMHT unit your daughter could talk to?
I know there was a time when No3 offspring fell between the cracks of juvie & young adult cp help. Strangely, because Sprout had an unreal fear of being in school, & I decided to educate at home, we were not eligible for the educational pysc team, & not old enough for young persons!
At the time, I consulted a solicitor to see if we could enforce the LEA to find an appropriate placement or at the very least a home tutor, but we couldn't get funding for the case to go ahead.....X Files or what:eek:
I wrote to our MP, but he must have found out I didn't vote for the blue rinse brigade, & was about as much use as any of the dipsticks who are supposed to watch our backs. But that's another story..........
I wish you luck in finding a common ground with your daughter in particular, & will be around at various times if you want to compare 'Kevinitis' notes in respective teenagers!
For future reference, I will call my three: Cauli; Cabbage & Sprout---each of them has put the wind up me at one time or another:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a good evening....no knees news to report....
Tulip? What do you think of the new look Casualty? I'm kinda getting used to it now, but prefer the old look....there was a thread--on Money Savers Arms I think--about both Cas & Holby City...I'm going to see if I can find it....
Have a good evening folks. Peaceful Minds. BMFx

There's not much to know really, my daughter has been in and out of hospital for the last 2 years with eating disorders and being suicidal - and she don't play.. she was almost successful several times, especially once she found out how to pop her veins open . On top of that she was extremely aggressive towards the rest of the family so it was all very disruptive. She was finally discharged in June as it was felt that she could manage in a non-secure environment. For the most part she has managed although she does still cut herself but not to the extent that it's life threatening, and she tried to hang herself last week but thankfully didn't. The problem with getting her to go to college is that she's very paranoid and her course is mostly girls and you know what teenage girls can be like  and her looking like Siouxsie Sioux doesn't really help her to feel like she fits in, plus all the scarring that she has.. those girls eyes must be out on stalks when my girlie walks in, lol
My son has been out of school since year 8, after having his face slashed with a knife by some older boys, he's in year 11 now. We've finally got an educational programme together that he likes and attends. He's a good kid on the whole but he does need his bum kicked now n then! I had all the battles with the LEA n stuff but they weren't really interested so I kept him up with a bit of work at home as best I could but to be honest my daughter was sucking up all the energy from all of us so it wasn't as much as it should have been. I did think about homeschooling him but with so much else going on it was a non-starter really but hopefully *crosses everything* we're on the right track now.
As for me, I was diagnosed earlier this year with something I can't spell or pronounce but it's basically that the protein cells leak out of my blood and clog up my lymphatic system, then my body starts a battle with itself and everything swells up, no kidding at times I can't even bend my legs or fingers cos they're so puffed up, there's no cure or treatment for it other than very tight bandaging to try and keep the swelling down. Just to top it off.. about a month ago I got excema! all overHopefully it's just a reaction to something and will go away soon (pleaaaaaase) cos it's driving me nuts. I'm sposed to resume my studies at Uni in 3 weeks time and panicking a bit about how I'm going to cope with all of that too. Never a dull moment in the bloggs house!
So there you go.. that's us in a nutshell, lol☆ §ügÅr cØÅTëÐ pØï§Øn ☆

Most of the sites I've visited today have a geography theme---& I'm absol--flippin-lootly useless at it! When I'm going anywhere I'm not sure of, I need sign posts that say "You gotta go this way"...a bit unnerving cuz I'm driving! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Tulip..are you close to a place that has a working water mill, & has horse-drawn canal boat trips? When I began the post, I knew the name...but it's complete gone now! I do remember it as being a very calming place, & if you could find it, would be well worth the visit. Hang on..is it something like 'Bickley Mill'?
I know what you mean about longer days at the weekend..me muvva says the same, although she knows she is always welcome to stroll over to see us anytime, she "doesn't want to intrude"...more like she knows there will be a sink of dirty dishes waiting for her when she gets here:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
But you do have some beautiful coastline to walk along in North Devon..we spent many a summer holiday staying with my granma near Barnstaple & having days at Clovelly, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe & my sister nearly drowned in Appledore! She was walking into the water & fell into a track left from the army testing tanks:eek: & it put her off swimming for years. At least I couldn't be blamed for that, cuz I wuz only likkle, but I appear to be the cause of most of her aggro....we're not what you could call 'close'.;)
Must get off the pooter!!!!!! I've got stuff to do y'know.....Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Oh Ethel, you deserve a medal! How you & the Tiffster [where is she btw!] are true inspiration. You should both be running the country.....I'd vote for you in an instant!
As an aside, I did a computer test thingy, & it said my ideal job would be POLITICIAN! Maybe we should start our own party:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I don't know where it is, or even remember where I saw it, but there was a residential unit for teenagers with eating disorders.. ..but you would have researched that I'm sure. It's a shame there's not a thread like this one for the young folk to open up on, or would it belurking on the Student board? And then, of course, it's persuading them to use it.....
hohum....I've said it before:shocked: Parenthood should come with a warning!:rotfl:
Sorry I can't be of any real help, but I'll keep the tissues & stress balls on hand:p
