...Morning Andi. I have a condition that allows me to know what I am talking about, & just assume everyone else will understand my blatherings:o [see earlier post re:foot recipes!]
I am not belittling the male fraternity at all, but trying to say that when a woman has a family to care for, 98% of the day-to-day chores are done on automatic pilot.
AND before I get accused of being a feminist, I know there are also men who are in control of the house too. But come on guys, even you must agree that our lives are at a considerable disadvantage during child-bearing years. You may cop the fall-out once a month, but it's nothing to what we are having to suffer:eek:
Uh-oh....have I started a battle of the sexes....pass the slow cooker, I'll have my size sixes casseroled today:o Pleeeeeeezzzzee Peeps, don't take offence at my comments, as none is intended. Oh bu88er it I'm going to get the spade & start digging my way out of this one:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Hi bmf!:hello:
You get the spades hun and I'll meet you down there!:rotfl:
As a fellow sufferer, you have my sympathy hun.:D
We don't like to talk about it, but between you and me,, the above photo is actually security camera footage of sazzy and ethel trying to escape jail after being convicted of participatng in The Great Blue Smartie Heist of 2006! Oh the shame!
But they might still have the spades so we could be in luck!:j
Hoping all is well with you and yours angel.
Much Love,

Hi lisa!:hello:
on board hun!;)

Hi Everyone
I have just stumbled onto to this section by mistake ...
We get all our best customers that way hun.:D
...and thought it might help me if I posted on here. I have been off sick since March 2006 after having a serious accident at work that has left me disabled. I have seen a counsellor and now a cognitive behaviourist since then. I have suffered depression in the past off and on but I feel the way I feel now because I cannot accept what I look like. Apparently I have adjustment disorder? I call it I've lost my leg and I'm gutted disorder! Lol. I'm not meaning to be flippant but I get amused at the wording of things.
Thanks

Well hun, you sound normal to me - and very courageous too.:T :A You should feel proud of being able to accept help from the drs hun.;)
You have every right to need time to adjust your view of yourself lisa. What you went through was devastating and anyone would feel the same way. And that's of no help to you whatsoever, I know hun.:o
This is you and your situation and well-meaning people can give you any number of stories to encourage you on, but the journey is only yours.
It's funny lisa, how our sense of humour can be our saving grace and holds us together. The very fact that your sense of humour has survived angel, is a very good sign. Just be careful not to hide behind it too much hun.;)
You're more than welcome here lisa - and I know you'll have already received a great welcome from the guardian angels on here.:T :A Take care hun.
Much Love,

feel like lurking more and more on here - can't put my feelings into words at the moment. just feeling more and more down. i have managed this far without being on anti depressents, and I want to keep it that way, but its so hard. I can't stop comfort eating either, which in turn makes me feel even worse.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Hi sf!:hello:
I've only just found you at the bottom of page 65 and I'm sorry you're feeling so low hun.
Food is a symptom or a form of self-punishment sometimes, whether it's too much or not enough, imho. And let's face it, after all we've been through, there isn't a bar of chocolate in the world that would take it all away.:o So I'm guilty as charged on the same offence there hun.;)
Yes - those nasty anti-depressants - get hooked for years - not natural - they'll take control over you - change your personality and mess with your mind - they can't do any good!
Except hun, this isn't the case any more.
When the drs prescribe ad's (or any meds actually) the general rule is that they start off on the low dose and work their way up only ifthey have to.;)
What med gives temporary side effects to someone, won't necessarily do that to someone else. And you'd be very closely monitored hun. There are many ads out there to try and they are often used along with some kind of counselling, therapy or support. They don't generally have a very strong impact on you at all - it's a subtle build up sf.
May I ask why you're so against them angel?
I understand that there are many reasons and, in all honesty, no-one really wants to go on ads. But imho sweetie, there comes a point where anything is worth trying if it will help. And it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be on them forever either.;)
If I were you, I'd discuss my concerns with my dr hun and then make a balanced and informed decision. Tell them exactly what your feelings are angel and they'll be able to give you their experienced opinion.
I hope this helps hun - I'm thinking of you.
Much Love,

So Juno.. are you going to give up the little white stix of death then? Two of my offspring smoke, even tho they promised faithfully to give up when we got the d-o-g, but I guess I have to agree that they've cut it down.
Here's hoping the new photo ad campaigns work.....Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
