There are many ways, that a young child can pick up a tummy bug, which have no connection with what she ate.0

The likelihood of your child getting sick from eating a jelly which was only 4 weeks past a best before date is negligible at best, 0 at worst.
They are pasteurised/UHT in order for them to have a shelf life which is long, so unless tampered with, or blatantly unsafe to serve (you would have seen the top bulging, which would ring alarm bells with most people, or even mould/microbes on the surface where air is in the product) then its not the bloody jelly.
In any case, it sounds like a reaction to an ingredient or something picked up elsewhere - food poisoning wouldn't have such a quick onset - sourced from a reputable physician.
Don't believe what you read on wikipedia, it is user generated content - try an NHS website or similar professionally written site; if your child does have "food poisoning", then I'd be taking them to see a doctor - it can be very nasty in little ones.0 -

Wow, you are a doctor too.0 -

As you've been told this isn't really something a doctor would tell you more a food safety expert. I have lost count of the food safety courses I have been on with various companies through the years. There's more chance of my £100 premium bonds winning the million in the next draw than the jelly having made her daughter sick.
Unopened jelly is fine if kept in a fridge for up to 12/18 months past it's best before date.0
