Been sanctioned on JSA any options left

Any evidence to back that up?Quite a few sanctions don't make it to appeal stage because they get overturned, quite a lot more sanctions could be overturned if claimants took the trouble to contest them.
There is a fair bit of ignorance on the part of claimants with regard to what their options actually are.
I received an unlawful sanction over Christmas (I'm an ESA claimant), I got it overturned. However it took 22 days of letter writing and phone calls to achieve, I can fully appreciate just why some people don't contest sanctions because the process is akin to hitting your head against a brick wall.0 -

What do they know? tried to obtain the data but the DWP refused the FOI.The majority of the data you requested is either not held centrally or not recorded. We estimate that the cost of gathering the information you have requested would exceed the appropriate limit of £600.
So the evidence is anecdotal.0 -

Some googling found https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/135405/response/333733/attach/html/3/FOI%20WDTK%20reply%204261.pdf.html3) There were 42,764 appeals by claimants against a Work Programme provider reported decision, and 19,468 of these have been reconsidered to date (the remaining 23,296 are awaiting consideration). Of the 19,468 cases reconsidered the original decision was upheld in 3,084 cases, and the appeal was allowed in the remaining 16,402 cases.
There were 79,221 appeals by claimants against an internal JCP reported decision, and 39,067 of these have been reconsidered to date (the remaining 40,154 are awaiting consideration). Of the 39,067 cases reconsidered the original decision was upheld in 10,086 cases, and the appeal was allowed in the remaining 28,981 cases.
So, for appeals of sanctions made following a work program provider report - over five in six are overturned.
For sanctions made following JCP reports - three quarters are overturned.
I think it quite unlikely to imagine that these people who appeal are the only ones who could appeal.0 -

To add some substance to those figures here's a real life example I posted elsewhere which I doubt is the only one of its kind:One sanction was avoided and another reversed due to the proof that Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery would not have gotten letters to the recipient in time for the appointment - a simple matter of them (scheme providers) trying to get people into trouble easily rebutted with factual and undeniable third party evidence.
Thanks for those statistics, rogerblack.0 -
Amazing that so many are overturned, due to vexatious or incorrect sanctioning.
Perhaps, as they fine claimants for errors, they should also take the same approach with DWP staff, as these 'mistakes' cost the taxpayer a fortune...

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

Since this government came in power, there has been 2.25 Million people who got sanctioned on JSA. I am not saying that people gotta do what i will do in that position but just imagine if only 1 percent of the people who get sanctioned did something like this. The whole met would be up and arms about it, the whole media would look into it and the government would have to change there policy on sanctioning people. The problem is that we work on our own rather than working together and the day we all stand together would be the day when we can change things for real.

enjoyIf it ever got to the point where i have no money to eat. I would go to the police station and break something to get myself arrested. Atleast i would get a warm cell and food and if everyone who get SANCTIONED by the job center did that than the government would have to change there policy about sanctioning so many people on the work program.0
