For anyone interested in applying for the amazon credit card I notice that you usually get offered to apply for this when going to the checkout at amazon and they will give you a £5 gift certificate.0

Did they match your credit limit that the barclaycard had?
still it will not temp me to spend more and not re-pay in full ....I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Great news, I tend to put all spending on my card where possible every month to maximise cash back and always payoff in full.
Have just started to make sure I spend £300 a month on the halifax clarity card for the £5 then everything else on the 1% card. The amazon vouchers would be very welcome instead though....they got most of my business at Christmas last year0 -
Are Barclay's only switching 'old Egg' accounts to this new account?
I have a 'High 5 Cashback account' - is that switching over too?Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -

I was an Egg holder.. transferred to Barclays when they bought them out... so possibly it is the case...???I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

I suspect they're switching some other cards too... if you look at all the documentation they sent, some of it isn't relevant to the World MasterCard (ex-Egg Money) card, e.g. it mentions no longer having to pay an annual fee, even though the World MasterCard didn't have one.0
-
I don't pay a monthly fee for the world mastercard, but I believe some people do - ie those that joined egg after the fee was introduced?0

Oh yes, I'd forgotten latecomers had slightly different terms. I think you're right.0

Does not affect me as I was not using the card because I don't like Barclays they offered and I took up an 18 month 0% offer which ends in August.
Still sad to see another cashback go this way but as I have a LLoyds/Amex combo already which I shall be using again soon can't see me using another combo, takes up too much room.
have to see if they come up with sweeteners nearer the time it switches.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
