I've just signed up to be a blood donor! First session on Thursday! Argh! I've never had an issue with having blood taken from me (midwives often commented that I had good veins)
Today I've been getting ready for the week, meal plan and stuff like that. Plan to sort out some cupboards in our bedroom as they need to be cleared of crap and filled with garage stuff as we are getting closer to planning to convert the garage. I love planning ahead.
I've used some PayPal funds to replace some mop heads for my steam cleaner as mine have worn out now therefore not a SFD today.

MrsGSR I got talking to a girl from the local "new" credit union in my area one day at the town fair. A few months later she found me on here and offered me the course for Peer Money Mentoring. It's amazing the people you meet.
So you have signed up to be a blood donor - this is great. I am gonna book in this week then!
What took you tot his point in order to run the course - what has taken a lot?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I might look into that too, sounds very interesting. My poor little brain doesn't get worked as much these days and I've got to the point where I need to get stuck in with learning.
Yes I have and I'm scared! Haven't told DH yet:eek:
It's only taken this long because the organisers have been really disorganised with everything, I asked about it 4 years ago and my local health team were not keen and then they advertised it last March and I applied for it last July and today have done the first bit of paperwork. So yeah longest process ever!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Just realised my closest blood donor centre from work is a walkin clinic. Coolio! Albeit I will need to do it tomorrow or Wednesday as I have Yellow Fever on Thursday.“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. I am sticking with the challenge but have hit a bump and may fail.
Was sick last night - already going to see doctor this morning as my leg was bothering me again. Was so afraid of being sick again (especially in my sleep) that I spent the night propped up and didn't eat until after I had seen the doctor.
As a result, this morning my back, shoulders and arms are aching (feel about a hundred) and I had to get a taxi to the doctors (only £2 but not good). The doctor says I have to rest, given me strong painkillers and go back in 3 weeks if not better. Trying not to even think about the painting.
Loads of people waiting for the hospital bus,but it came and went in the few minutes it took to get my prescription, so hobbled to town centre, bought pop and sandwiches (+yoghurts and broccoli - very good offers) so I could take the painkillers (took water with me but out of bananas, cereal bars - could have made a sandwich but would have had to defrost bread and filling), returned library books and got 4 new ones (need to stay in bed).
Came home, unpacked, then got back on the bus,16 mile round trip to bank a cheque (need every penny I can get in the bank). Went to 3 shops I had vouchers for but only spent money in mns. I know I need to eat something but my stomach still isn't sure so just got bananas, berries, veg mix, salad stuff and bread buns (some ys but still mns ys). Also bought 4 bunches of flowers to do cemetery run and for mum -my brother would have been 54 this coming Saturday and the anniversary of his death is next Tuesday so she maybe a little down this week.
I have another appointment on Wednesday so will buy an all day anybus ticket and bus hop anywhere I need to go. No exercise class for me tonight. Also used credit card to pay for things. It is the one I transferred balances from,so if the money comes in I should not have to pay interest - being cautious until I know more about DS2. Sent off e-mails last night about overdue rebates but can't rely on it as it took 2 months to sort last year. Food spending (if any) will go on cc and any cash to bank for bills.
Just eaten my way through a mixed bag of carrot, broccoli, sweetcorn, butternut squash and asparagus and the painkillers seem to have kicked in. Not worth fretting about things -I have done what I can for now and will see what the rest of the day/ week brings. Trying to think of strategies to use on DS3 -he will probably be okay with going to mum's instead of me if I am still struggling but how do I persuade him to do the painting. At least I could get on with sewing the front room curtains (by hand) if he will carry things up here to me.
Keep going torties. :j(wish I could do this). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Evening All,
Hope everyone has had a good day. SFD for me today as working again, unfortunately tmrw won't be as the old banger (car not me!) has got it's mot. Am keeping everything crossed it needs none or minimal work to get thro, I really don't want to spend my money on it, I want to keep it in the bank!! I've never stuck to a challenge or diary for this long and it's really made me aware of every penny, and I love the fact that I've still got money in the bank. I realise that most of it will be going on council tax, car tax, car maintenance and childminder but I've still got a bigger balance than usual. At least once the mot is done, I can transfer some £ to my saving pots & the debt as I'll know where I stand. Will fill up with petrol tmrw morning as well, so have added it now.
Mothernerd - Hope you're giving yourself a bit of time to recover xx
