    I'm running Symantec
This is getting complicated (either that or you're testing us;) You're running a very odd version of Firefox (one that measures how many of the downloaded installers hit the first run page and subsequently check for updates.) Unless you know what Funnelcake is I suggest a reinstall of Firefox.

Symmantec/Norton or whatever you have. Again, unless you have paid for this or have it for a specific purpose I suggest removing it (a bit harsh perhaps - see the end of post**) OR attempting a reset of the firewall settings. Default settings shouldn't prevent downloads.

**default windows firewall and free anti-virus e.g. Avast are good enough for most home-user needs.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.
  • Thanks, I've had Firefox for years and it updates itself all the time. I thought it was the latest version I'm not testing you. My knowledge is very limited.
