Computer running slow, cpu @ 100%

Options
My computer has started to run slow and when I looked at the task manager it said cpu was 100%. I've freed up some space by ending some processes that were active so that I can get on to the internet and ask your advice. It seems to keep filling up to 100% without me storing anything. Any ideas as to why.
Many thanks
janey

It was my husband that took them out. He can't remember, (he has man flu at the moment and is insufferable) thinks one might of been adbut exec or something like it. He said they weren't important and he just ended the process. Do you want me to reboot the system now?

When it happens again, take a screenshot of the "processes" tab and we'll be able to assist you.
Try and organise the list by CPU Usage.

    Task Manager

First ensure that "show processes from all users" is ticked (or press the button if there's one)

The click on "cpu" to sort it, if it only shows 00% processes then click it again

I think I am going to have to keep an eye on this. Computer working fine at the moment but it seems that overnight or when I turn computer on in the morning something comes in and fills up the cpu and I can't get on the internet. Have just learnt how to take scren shots so I'm posting one now and then I will have something to compare it with in the next few days. Thanks for all your help, I'm a little slow when it comes to things of this nature. [IMG][/img]2lcryht.png

Well that's 15 out of 83! DCM why don't you want her to click 'memory usage' (or equivalent) to show what's hogging the memory in one screenshot?

Rather than just posting screenshots like this, wait until the PC is really busy (slow), then note down which processes are running near 100% of CPU time when the PC is slow.
