  • Well that's 15 out of 83! DCM why don't you want her to click 'memory usage' (or equivalent) to show what's hogging the memory in one screenshot?
She said 100%cpu that's why I said cpu, my memory is 100% accurate

Sorry, I was confused. Thought she meant the memory when she said It seems to keep filling up to 100% without me storing anything.

Hi guys, taken me 3/4 hour to get this so I had to stop 4 processes because I need to go to work at 8.45. I stopped 1, a windows plug in 2, abd update exe 3, asc service exe 4, ias data manager. This is a screen shot before I stopped them.30secmx.png.
This is a screen shot now 14vib94.png.
will be back home about 3pm will check back then.
    Thanks

Not too sure what I've got to be honest. This was supposed to be my computer but my husband keeps putting bits on, (mainly security) in the misguided thought that the more you have the safer the computer.

Sorry to hijack this. I have both of these installed. I'm sure they were recommended on here. Would you recommend uninstalling them?

The 2 apps listed may well be ok but as far as the original poster is concerned Advanced System Care (ASC?) appears to be hogging the system and so, for starters, I'd suggest uninstalling it. (Perhaps ASC is doing its own scan and perhaps that takes a few hours!?) The OP already has Avast running, and so - assuming its up-to-date - system should be fine with it alone. If the OP is still worried I'd suggest, after uniinstalling ASC to do :-
    1. run an Avast scan
    2. check for malware using malwarebytes as defined in the very popular sticky

This may well be your problem, you don't need more security, you need the right amount. Too much gives you a different set of problems to not having enough. In reality all you need is a decent AV (free such as Avast if you're a cheapskate like me :); paid for such as Kaspersky if you've got money to burn) and Malwarebytes (not sure if there are alternatives as it's the only one I use).
