I'm afraid to say I have been here before with almost the same problem. My husband is the culprit and I can not educate him, he keeps adding security until they can't work together anymore the computer slows, I remove all he put on and use avast and he keeps saying 'don't come running to me to sort it when you get infected' well I managed a whole year without any problems, we bought a new pc, (supposed to be mine) and when i looked at all the things to remove I had not added one of them. I'm just glad you techie people don't judge me. God knows what he will say when he sees that the desktop is practically empty, Ooops0

Thanks for the link. Tried downloading but it failed. The message was "disable your firewall or download in safe mode". I'm a bit wary about disabling my firewall.0 -
^ looks like an issue with the Macrium site. Try download.com instead
http://download.cnet.com/Macrium-Reflect-Free/3000-2242_4-10845728.html
(safe but just READ the pop-ups and DESELECT anything that isn't Macrium)If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
