Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed
  • But we were not told we could go elsewhere
They did not and do not have to tell you that you can buy elsewhere. Would you expect staff in Tesco to tell you that you could also buy in Asda?

That is not a requirement and never has been.
we had adequate cover on DIS, savings, endowment etc? Is that not a case?

already answered. DIS and endowment do not overlap with PPI. Adequate savings would be around 1-2 years worth of your income. You say you only had enough to cover 12 months of mortgage payments. SO, that is not adequate savings.

  • Had enough for 2 1/2 years payments
  • Had enough for 2 1/2 years payments
Earlier you said 12 months; so which figure did you give to the Bank and, more importantly, are you able to prove this was the case?
  • Gave them the figure from my savings pass book which was 2 1/2
  • Gave them the figure from my savings pass book which was 2 1/2
Good solid evidence is always a point in your favour...

Am waiting for a reply off Halifax. Sent my MPPI misspelling form back from the Halifax 5 weeks ago now. I called today and all they can tell me is they are 'reviewing' it. I can't get to talk to whoever is looking at my claim as they don't have phones ?!? I was just wondering if anyone else is as frustrated as me? And does 'reviewing' it sound hopeful?

Also known as sitting in a queue waiting for someone to look at it. So, no. Not hopeful on that point.

They would never get anything done if they had to keep on the phone all day.

Shame they can't tell the truth then. Disappointing that it's been sat in their in tray for 5 weeks without anyone taking the time to look at it.
