Imagine how much they are paying to use this nonsense of a system.

Is it not easier to use MTE and upload through there?

You don't actually have to call.

Upload using intralinks and they get round to it after a couple of days even if you don't call.

I don't find intralinks any worse than Leeds/Barclays etc where in the latter case I can't scan and attach as it doesn't like my pdfs.

I wish they were all like Nationwide's TBH.

Strange KS. We have no problem attaching pdf's to Barclays.

One thing you do need to watch is that the 3 in 1 type printer scanners seem to scan pdf's with large file sizes and many sites reject 2M+ files.

We have a dedicated scanner and it is worth every penny.

I think it's the Scan2PDFPro software I use which creates pdfs from the Samsung All In One I use which is the problem.

  • I was able to buy the Adobe Acrobat software for £70 which is a boon... can convert jpegs and tiffs etc to PDF, remove pages, merge multiple files together and reduce file size of bigger docs.

Barclays MAX worked for me for ages and then gave up completely - using Firefox so just use Safari now for uploads and all works fine.

Halifax system is a complete dogs dinner

Absolutely - Adobe Acrobat Pro is the adviser's friend (merge it with Vuescan software and you have reached Nirvana). We use this combination on each desk each with own duplex (3in1) scanner and it thrashes the endless copying/scanning/converting processes.

For 10 years we have been using Visioneer type scanner. Our main one is a Xerox Documate 252.

Coupled with Acrobat Pro it is perfect for the job.

Is it a sheet feeder not flat bed so we still use the 3 in 1 for passports etc.

We had a member of staff who kept stapling paperwork together.

I ask her not to do this as we need to scan everything - she continued to do it.

    I took her stapler away.

She bought one in from home in her handbag.

  • We find the duplexing a boon - so we always use HP8600 Pros (now 8620) which handle everything we can throw at them.

HP scanner software is notoriously flaky, hence the selection of Vuescan which is a boon to any scanning device.

There is certainly more than one solution - but getting it right is hugely important for any practice and if there is a worthwhile area to throw a few bob at it is this !

  • We use mini (19mm) foldback clips by the gross in place of staples until the file is closed at compliance checking stage - all the clips then returned to the communal icecream tub in the middle of the office for re-use.

ACG - write her a stern memo ... and staple it to her forehead !
