FTB here and not overly impressed with Nationwide. Even my broker is dumb struck

I doubt that Nationwide care less. As there's due process to be followed and completed. If your job/business was to lend money you'd do the same. .

    Slightly off topic.

About five years ago I hung a mirror over the fireplace.

Today, I discovered I nailed into a gas pipe when I did it.

    Peachy.
Having paid to have the pipe repaired, the wall replastered and the decorating refinished, my new carpet as of last week now has to be replaced as there's a manufacturing defect right in the line likely to see the most foot traffic.

If these things come in threes, the Lay Z Boy furniture currently being made in the US is probably going to fall overboard. Knowing my luck, just as the boat docks in Liverpool...

  • After years not not having ONE - I've had three surveys come back with valuation lower than offer price in the last few weeks. Anyone else seeing this?

    Not really, no.

We get the odd one where the surveyor isn't a regular on the site, or the site is new.

Just occurred to me that I spent one hour of my life today on the phone to NWIS to attempt to sort out an almighty mess they have made of a case.

An hour I wont get back.

I love looking at my month-end phone bill to see how many hours I spent calling 0845 numbers.

They are included in the calls package, so no cost, but there is usually a scary amount of time I've been on hold included in that.

9 hrs 09 mins on the landline and used 305 mins on mobile in May.

Who would ever be a broker!
Calling call centres for advice on how to input figures on their system and you get someone who can not grasp adding and dividing and then when you explain they are giving wrong information you sit in silence for 20 seconds followed by "is there anything else I can help you with?"

Well before we move on to my next question can you help with my first!?!

2 X one hour calls in the past two days for me.

35 minutes to get through - 25 minutes waiting for them to not action anything
