I was wondering, have any of you heard of a practical reason why Lender's do not list cigarettes as a specific item on affordability calculators?

I have seen 'are you a smoker' asked on applications but that is all.

Given that a moderate habit can start to match Council Tax on cost I find it strange.

No. It's a fair point though.

    What's twenty a day now about £8?

£2,920 a year is about double my Council Tax.

Quick rant before I jump off as loads on today..

How bad are the new Experian reports that have been coming out for the last month or so???

Difficult to interpret does not even come close, still at least they can keep mixing it up to justify the monthly fee.

Lots of lenders continuing to move over to Call Credit too.

We are finding them particularly tricky to read Dave.

Full of information that is of no use to us.

They are still trying to build a market out of monitoring your credit report.

I did wonder what the heck was going on with the report when a client sent it through, it looked like a 7 but was all in green. Very bizarre!

On a happy note, it's Friday!

Saying that, I have a road show tomorrow *grumble*

  • Add me on that list - had just come pack for the pub and settled down to review some files (credit reports just received) - gave up after two reads and went to bed.

Just about fathomable with a fresh brain in the morning !

I have to stand there for 6 hours in front of a banner for my company and act friendly and talk to people about mortgages, the whole process, Shared Ownership.

It sounds hideous, it is hideous.

If it wasnt a Saturday it doesnt sound that bad to me. You get to meet loads of new excited first time buyers... thats the best bit of the job.

I would rather do that than someone dump a big pile of paperwork on my desk.
