    Hi guys!

Sorry for my absence but my laptop is playing up and I can't get it to charge. :(

I've had a hrctic few days including buying a new landline phone and car battery and selling a book for a whole pound on Ebay (better than a slap in the face with a wet kipper, I suppose).

There may also be the chance of a permanent job. I'll let you know more when I do.

Take care until I can get back on properly - typing on the phone is a PITA. xxx

Hello everyone! *Prods Dedicated awake gently*

Well something very strange is going on here. I wrote a message on here saying what I am about to say roughly two days ago, and it has disappeared. And the message I just wrote to replace it has disappeared as well. I'm not sure what's going on here, but it's very weird indeed.

    So, update:

    1) I have got a permanent job. It starts this week and it looks as though the company will treat me well, which will make a nice change compared to what my previous few jobs have been like. I have seen what I consider a sign of faith from them already, which has given me some confidence, so I'm going in there with a positive attitude and a point to prove that I am bl**dy good and I am going to try to put the negative experiences I have had behind me. I am going to use the money I earn to pay for me to get into the kinds of jobs I should be in (there may be some more studying involved) before I go *insane* and paying off debt. Expect an SOA to follow.

    2) I went to a party last night and bought a ridiculously expensive present for the birthday person. I think it was half out of guilt as I didn't want to go (not actually cos I didn't want to go but cos my +1 couldn't come and I felt really uncomfortable going on my own and thought I would only stay for a very short time as I didn't think there would be anybody I knew there so I think that I subconsciously thought that this would lessen my sense of guilt. As it turns out, there was (luckily) someone I knew there but I could have done with a lesser expense. (Not that I begrudge the recipient, but I made a financially unsound decision there: £43.50 I'm not going to get back and I could have bought something else lovely for less.)

    3) I have decluttered a bit more and got rid of two huge bags of mostly brand new foreign language books to the charity shop. I know this is madness, but I just need the space (my sibling came round to visit me the other day and the look on his face when he saw all the books sent me scuttling in total shame to the charity shop. Perhaps I could have made some money from them, but a huge part of my life right now is learning to let go, so they had to go. (I have still kept a certain amount of good stuff to Ebay, though, but stuff that is really likely to sell as opposed to numerous cluttery 'maybes'.)

Right, I need to go and sort my life out a but today I need to:

Send CV to work experience place
    Tidy up
    Wash clothes
    Make bread
    Food plan
    Dinner at sibling's house
    Food shopping (maybe)
Iron clothes for work for tomorrow (and let up trouser hem if necessary)
    Make lunch for work
    GET TO BED EARLY!!!!! (10.30)

I hope you are all well. I'll catch up as I go. xxx

Woohoo! You are back - I am so pleased :D

1, great news on the job - congratulations i am so pleased for you and glad they are treating you well already :T

2, gift - lesson learnt as you say - i'm being very mindful currently about every spend - made a positive difference in the food shop. Maybe list something on the bay to help recoup costs?

3, Well Done! on the decluttering :T - i have a very expensive time coming up and have a huge target for May (started already) of 100 newly listed items  Care for a challenge? :) Well done on parting with the books too - i know its a tough choice sometimes x

Looking forward to more updates -what are your study plans chuck?

*Crosses fingers* Long may it last! I'm a bit scared cos of all the bad experiences I've had recently, but I just have to go in there and give it all I've got. This is a new start and I am *NOT* going to be messed around like I have been before.

Good idea. I think it was a last-minute emotional purchase, which I try to avoid but I fell for this one. I have fallen into a habit of waiting for free listings for things I don't think will sell at the minute. Perhaps I should get out there at other times as well. ;)

It is. Part of me feels really guilty about throwing it out cos 'I could earn money from that' but if I was really going to, wouldn't I already have done so?! It's twisted logic for me. I don't know if I've got 100 items left to list but 30 should be doable, right? One a day average? #wouldbeshamefulnottokeepupwiththat

Sort of vague at the minute. I'm waiting for some advice before I decide for certain, but I definitely need to do something...it's something I know I've got a talent for, but scary to go for it for several other reasons. I will let you know more when I do. x

    Hey PB,

With bay of e - i never pay for listings now - maybe check with jwil though as she sells lots more than me and i *think* she may pay for listings just the once for items. I just wait FLW and list then - i don't sell lots - so goodness knows how i'll get 100 things on - i'd need pretty much all 100 things to sell this week to have the room:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: And the prices are changing too for listings. I am half hoping they do a last hurrah thing and do 200 free listings this weekend - that's be ideal for me :D I just prep things ready for FLW by either scheduling and cancellng that when it is FLW or by doing the descriptions in word and taking the pics.

All sounds exciting with the study - can't wait to hear what you decide.

Sometimes the space is more important - i need to raise the money for lots of things this year - event, MA, hols, all the bills i don't budget for so i am selling what i can. Having said that, alot does get given away - to family and friends - i like to think i need the money but i am not tight ;)

Looking forward to your update after work too - they are lucky to have you PB :)

    Hi Dedicated!

I wrote you a big reply and then I opened some music to listen to on UTube and it all crashed!

Anyway, I forgot about Jwil's tricksiness: I should take a leaf out of her (and your) book.

As for the rest, the new job today was massively interesting. It's clearly going to be a pretty huge challenge (in the beginning, at least). I don't think I'm going to get the chance to get bored much! I'm half delighted, half terrified!

I had better get to bed, so here is today's spends:

£7.00: food and rubbish at Frozenwaterland (not all good)
£4.49: fruit and veg at a neighbouring establishment.

Annoyingly I wanted to bring a lot of plates back that I bought to replace my broken ones but never needed, but couldn't find the receipt. Gah!

I need to go and wash my hair now, then look for forms to bring to work tomorrow and get some sleep. No pressure, then.

I think the only thing I've managed to get off my list was making bread, which is just out of the breadmaker. :rotfl: :o Oh, and clothes washing: I'm good at that one. Other than that, I *really* need to get some sleep.

Take care and speak soon (that goes for the rest of you as well).

P.S. I just had another bill through from the council tax people. There's something strange going on here, but I don't have time to figure it out at the moment. Also, my electricity needs sorting out - they have WAY too much of my money!

I really do need to have that sort-out. Financial shenanigans, I promise I will sort you out in the next week!
