  • Hi all,

I've been busy. Really quite very busy, but in a good way.

First up, the financials: £5.84 earned from 1 Ebay sale after fees.

I also have £25 from another 'side hustle'.

I have been really busy this past few days, mostly decluttering. I am getting rid of huge amounts of stuff I don't need. Some of it has gone to the charity shop, some the tip, some other places it can be donated. Although part of me is thinking 'Ooh, keep that - you could Ebay it' I know that there is too much for me to get through and the amount of clutter in my abode is just dragging me down, so out it goes. I need to attract new situations into my life, so hopefully this is the start of doing that. (I am keeping one bag of valuable stuff to be Ebayed, though - I'm not daft, but it will be a manageable amount, not endless quantities).

There's still a fair bit to go, but I've made a good start. Here's to getting rid of the rest of it. :T

    Thanks TC. :)

To be honest, the whole cluttered mind thing really resonates with me. That's why I have to do this. There may be a bit of feng shui mixed up in there as well (I'm not sure I believe in it per se, but it's hard to argue that living in a more streamlined space leads to a better life). I'm delighted. I thoroughly recommend disposing of stuff by methods other than Ebay to increase your peace of mind! ;)

Hey PB - i am so glad that you are happy with your decision to part with stuff. I, on the other hand, am a tad upset that i'll lose the income from the bay of e as i really will have nothing left to list once i've finished the last 2 areas here  But then a *tiny* little bit of me is thinking that if i finish my course and all the decluttering is done i can really focus on a new job and possible p/t new course  So as you say making room in my life for what comes next :)

Hope you have a good day :)

Well done on the decluttering! I think there is a lot in the whole 'cluttered house, cluttered mind' thing.

I just can't bear to miss out on even a few ££s with things as they are at the moment :D.

I think I equate being clutter free with being debt free so will carry on with my endeavours and hope that both happen at around the same time.

For you jwil, I very much think that they will! ;) I just couldn't do it any more, though. I could be here listing things that just won't sell until doomsday so I have to be sensible. I can't describe it any better than saying I feel like a snake or a spider about to shed my skin and that if I don't do it, I will stay stuck in it forever and that's not healthy or good. (Didn't I just make myself sound attractive?! :rotfl:) I just HAVE to do it. I can't explain why, but I think it's part of other big changes that are happening in my life and I feel as though if I don't do it, the other changes won't happen somehow, and I really REALLY need them to happen.

Somehow, the cost of all of this not happening seems more than I could ever get from selling those things. Maybe that's why it's the right choice for me.

You are right to do whats right for you PB and its good that you know what you want to do too - there have been times when i've really needed the money but given items away because it helps out the receiver and felt the right thing to do. If it works for you that is great :) Any other news on the horizon then? :)

Um. It's mostly the decluttering, TBH. I went through the books...Oh. Em. Gee! I have a HUGE (and I do mean HUGE) box of them to get rid of, and a littler one beside it and they all have to be disposed of. And there's (a lot) more, to paraphrase Frank Carson.

Right, I had better get on with it. Things to do today:

    Wash hair.
    Fill out GHC1 form.
Fill out housing benefit/council tax reduction form online.
Remove various music instruments from bedroom and replace with newly tidied book boxes.
    Hoover rest of bedroom.
    Declutter more of bedroom.
    Hoover living room.
    Apply for job(s).

And then dinner and maybe going out this evening.

Right, best dash - lots to do!

Mr tc sometimes says-'if you work out how long it takes you to find, sort, photograph and list stuff-you're not even on minimum wage'. To which I reply that this is a de cluttering money making exercise and I get a damn sight more for it than I would if I gave it all to charity, and that he doesn't moan when he is benefitting from the money. :)
I'm hoping to be clutter free and mortgage free at a similar time-hopefully 2021/2022 fingers crossed.

*Puts fingers in ears and hums loudly*

I know what you are saying, but I can't listen to it. I'm *technically* a slumdog millionaire but I can't deal with the slumming anymore! :p It's gotta go!
