Thanks for posting, brizzled. I've been reading your thread and can see you have lots of exciting stuff happening in your life at the moment. Well done on taking the leap to new and exciting things.
Things are going pretty well with me actually. I've been hiding because I didn't want to show my face again until I'd done the trampoline.
More news on the next post. Thanks again for dropping by.

OK, DRUM ROLL (In need of direction, I hope you're watching
) - I'VE DONE THE TRAMPOLINE!
I got totally soaked doing it today but it looks fantastic. I have also put it up for sale on a local selling page - we'll see how that goes, if it doesn't sell pretty quickly I will widen the net a bit. The work is only half-done though because once it sells, it will need to be dismantled. But I'm pretty pleased with my day's work. :j
I also did a fair bit of work in the garden today, lots of weeding mainly but also some TLC for my tomatoes, cucumbers and squashes. Have TONS of mange tout and enough lettuce to start a shop.
Somehow though, most of blueberries disappeared before I could eat them. They are covered with a net so I'm not quite sure what happened. On the plus side, the raspberries are starting to fruit. The first batch of beetroot looks ready to harvest as well - I'm thinking roast beetroot salad with goat's cheese and pine nuts - yum yum.
I managed to finish the book club book in time, though I really didn't enjoy it and did a lot of page-skipping near the end.
Will post an update on my July targets in a mo - can't say I'm doing very well though.0 -
So here is an update on my July targets:
- Raise £600 extra through the various means outlined in an earlier post which were:
- Freelance work ........£265 £282.5 billed
- Bay of E...................£300 £0 - but have started finding stuff to sell
- Car booty or two......£100 £0 - car boot lined up soon
- Misc other selling......£100 £0 - trampoline for sale, other stuff lined up
- Misc other income....£50 £5 from Quidco, £35 due from someone who owes me it
- Look into changing utility company - with cashback if possible Have looked into this but think we are just as well staying put on a new fixed deal.
- Lose 4 pounds in weight (have put on a few pounds lately
) Have kept pretty well to eating plan but have not lost any weight.
- Declutter the garage - will have to do this for the car boot, which is next weekend I hope
- Sort out the back flower bed - worked on that today, lots more work to do
- Paint back fence - depends on previous task being done
- Get out mountain-biking again - nope
- Go for 4 small walks, 1 long walk every week - no long walk, must do better with exercise
- Get back into studying for my Microsoft certification - nope
- Do pathways between raised beds (this is a big job) - started, lots more work to do

Of course I'm watching, always watching and well done. The dismantling is a lot easier. You're still only half way through July and already sitting on a pass. Plenty of time for that to hit an a*. The grow your own stuff seems to be going really well for you. I'm not a fan of beet root but do make a beet root and orange chutney for Christmas every year that others seem to appreciate. It's an option if you end up with a glut.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks for the encouragement, I need it.
Orange and beetroot chutney sounds absolutely delicious. I doubt I will have a glut though, my veggie plot is very small so there's not a huge amount of beetroot.
Hopefully I will get to that A*.0 -
So another day is over and how did I get on, DFW-speaking?
- I sold something small on a local selling page, item collected and cash is in my purse.
- Trampoline has attracted some interest but not sold yet.
- Put ad for trampoline in the local shop.
- Have lined up a few more items for the local page which I will list tomorrow.
- Have listed some books on amazon.
- Have started decluttering some stuff in the garage and putting some sellable clothes in the wash.
- Did some freelance work.
- Make some healthy homemade coconut cakes for snacking.
- Made breakfast and lunch to take to work tomorrow.
- Had offer of lots of free fruit from my neighbour who has a glut.
