So back with today's report - didn't too badly actually though I once more dodged the job I didn't really want to do - power-washing the trampoline. :o Must get it done though because it's a very good quality trampoline and I think it will sell for a fair bit of money. Also, looking forward to seeing what the garden looks like without it - it's an absolute monster and dominates one side of the garden.

So, how did I do today?

    From yesterday:

Do July targets - am in the middle of this, will post them soon.
Power-wash the trampoline - err, No.
    [STRIKE]Bake a loaf of bread [/STRIKE]

    Today:

    [STRIKE]Water and feed the tomatoes[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Harvest the garlic that's ready and lay it out to dry in the sun.[/STRIKE] Harvested one variety and it's looking good. Other variety needs another week or two I reckon, will keep an eye on it.
[STRIKE]Do more ironing while watching Wimbledon on telly[/STRIKE] Ironed a MOUNTAIN of stuff - even took stuff in off the line to iron. This was partly thanks to the excellent and very long men's Wimbledon final.
[STRIKE]More laundry (first wash already on the line, second in the machine)[/STRIKE] Three lots washed, dried, folded, put away.
[STRIKE]Invoice for the freelance work already done [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Plant the remaining sweet peas I'd left behind the greenhouse and forgotten about :o[/STRIKE]
Clean the en-suite bathroom - another job dodged - I am excellent at avoiding the things I don't like doing. :D
    [STRIKE]Start another bottle garden[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Plant out some lettuce seedlings[/STRIKE]

Not a bad day's work all in all and dinner was delicious as well. :)
  • You got a lot done but need to crack on with the trampoline. You'll get a better price for it at the start of the school holidays.

You are right - it's just all that faff with the power-washer. :D

Do you mean I should wait until the school holidays or do you think I should sell it now? I was going to try firstly in our local shop and if that doesn't work (I'll give it a couple of weeks) a local Facebook selling page.

    So - targets for July.

I suspect these will get added-to over the next few days but this is for starters:

    1. Raise £600 extra through the various means outlined in an earlier post.
    2. Look into changing utility company - with cashback if possible
    3. Lose 4 pounds in weight (have put on a few pounds lately :o)
    4. Declutter the garage
    5. Sort out the back flower bed
    6. Paint back fence
    7. Get out mountain-biking again
    8. Go for 4 small walks, 1 long walk every week
    9. Get back into studying for my Microsoft certification
    10. Do pathways between raised beds (this is a big job)

    That'll do for starters. :)

Thanks - will get on with that. :)

Today is a working day although I am working from home which is why I am having a quick post on here. :o:naughty:

Jobs on a working day are going to be fewer but here's what I've got to do:

Power-wash the trampoline - I promise, though probably won't get it finished today.
Finish reading the book for book club, which is tomorrow.
    Tend to the greenhouse plants
Quick scoot around the garden to check on things
    Clean en-suite bathroom
    Tidy up my wardrobe

    That'll do for today.

Hey peaceandfreedom, lovely to see you again!

Great targets, good luck with it all :)

Enjoy your book - what are you reading?

I have a gardening question if you don't mind oh guru? :D I have some lavender plugs I want to put into pots. What should I use? Is just normal potting compost ok?

Everything I touch just dies anyway (except the things I really want to die ) but I like lavender and would like to at least give it a good go :)

I'll PM you about the book. :)

With the lavender - I must admit that I haven't grown on lavender - my lavender was planted from quite large plants. But lavender likes to be well-drained so I would mix multi-purpose compost with some coarse grit. Also make sure you add some crocks or gravel to the bottom of the pot to aid drainage. Rain / water is more likely to kill lavender than the cold.

I keep meaning to grow more lavender - it smells so divine and is an absolute magnet for bees and butterflies. :)

<Peeks around the corner> Is 'in need of direction' here?

No, OK, I'll quickly confess and run - I STILL didn't clean the trampoline. :o

    Other jobs:

Power-wash the trampoline - I promise, though probably won't get it finished today. Broke that promise but in fairness it was raining out.
Finish reading the book for book club, which is tomorrow. Almost there (it's a dull and depressing book)
    [STRIKE]Tend to the greenhouse plants[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Quick scoot around the garden to check on things[/STRIKE] That's really an early morning treat in any case. :)
    [STRIKE]Clean en-suite bathroom[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Tidy up my wardrobe[/STRIKE]

Tomorrow I am out at book club so I don't think I'll get any jobs done. Wednesday evening is looking promising weather-wise so I'll do the trampoline then...........
