Well, Mr A only cost just over £53 which isn't bad considering I threw in some extra stuff.

Had a pretty good day at work, learned some new stuff, did some whizzy new things on the website.

    And now it's a long weekend. :j

Plan to spend a long fruitful day in the garden tomorrow, doing some digging, some more sowing, some weeding and pruning. :T

And absolutely must list some stuff for sale at some point before Tuesday.
  • Sounds like a plan. Enjoy.

So the day is half-gone and not a thing has been achieved. :o

    Except I had a nice lie-in which I really REALLY needed. :j

I am not having good luck with seeds this year as most of my courgettes and cucumbers have failed to germinate. I am beginning to think I must have stored the seeds badly over the winter, although the cucumbers were brand new. Need to do something about this - cucumbers and courgettes are the mainstay of my summer crops.

So I thought I'd list my plans for today, along the lines of DDFW:

    • Go to the garden centre - get some lettuce seeds and anything else that takes my fancy - I've got some gift vouchers to spend. :T
    • See if I can scrounge some courgette seedlings off a fellow gardener who has done better with their seeds than I have.
    • Take some rubbish to the tip
    • Clear up the area of hedge by the road before it takes someone's eye out.
    • Plant out some plants in my raised beds
    • Weed all around the raised beds
    • Find some suitable kit to wear to the match tomorrow
    • Lots of laundry - washing, drying, sorting out, putting away - maybe even a touch of ironing while watching MOTD tonight
    • Do proper May diary to pin up in the kitchen as we are all very busy people this month
I'm excited because we are going to see a Premier League match tomorrow - we are big fans and are very excited, we so rarely get to go. :j Need to borrow a shirt from my son. :D

OK, off to go and actually GET STUFF DONE today.

Well, it was a reasonably productive day - here's how I did:
    • Go to the garden centre - get some lettuce seeds and anything else that takes my fancy - I've got some gift vouchers to spend. :T Didn't happen but this was because OH did his disappearing act and I had to take DS to work.
    • See if I can scrounge some courgette seedlings off a fellow gardener who has done better with their seeds than I have. Done, and some cucumber seedlings as well. :j
    • Take some rubbish to the tip. Done.
    • Clear up the area of hedge by the road before it takes someone's eye out. Done and a fine job I did too, if I say so myself.
    • Plant out some plants in my raised beds. Not done because I need to beef up the soil a bit more and also the plants need a bit more hardening off.
    • Weed all around the raised beds. Started but too much to do to get done in one day.
    • Find some suitable kit to wear to the match tomorrow. Done.
    • Lots of laundry - washing, drying, sorting out, putting away - maybe even a touch of ironing while watching MOTD tonight. Done but no ironing, though I watched a good bit of MOTD.
    • Do proper May diary to pin up in the kitchen as we are all very busy people this month. Not done.
Not too bad considering my late start. Legs and hands are aching from the gardening. Have just changed the bedclothes so I get to slide in between delicious clean fresh sheets and get a nice night's sleep so I am in good form for the drive up to the match - looking forward to it. :j
  • You've been a busy bee ! - hope you enjoy the match ! :)

Well we had a long but very good day. I do love going to big stadiums, it's fun. I had budgeted 50 in spends for the day (not including the tickets of course, bought some time ago) and my total spends came to ........ drum roll ...... 49.80. :D That included a nice meal out after the match and a couple of small souvenirs from the club shop. Doesn't include fuel but I think the fuel will be covered by my normal monthly fuel budget. But must remember in future to budget in the fuel costs. :)

We won as well, though I can't say the match was the most exciting I've ever watched.

Hope everyone had a nice day, I'm a bit knackered now. Stuff going on in the village tomorrow for May Day so I guess I will end up spending some money but I intend to be a bit of a cheapskate. Might get a few 50p books though.

    Hi p&f,

A fellow footie fan here :D though we will support different clubs :) I haven't been to a match for a while though - the last one i went to was whilst on holiday abroad - very exciting stuff :D

Excellenty on the budgeting for the day too :T

Also you are doing brilliantly on planning on clearing this debt - i really must ask for some advice on the forward planning stuff as i just can't think of anything but uni at the mo, but have niggling worries about budgeting that would just be sorted out if i just worked out a budget including all things not just the usual month things...

Hope today is as good and productive for you - and find the camera charger - it is still flw today i think xx

Yes, I was quite pleased with the way it worked out. :D Though if you spend most of the day getting to the stadium / being at the stadium, it is easier to not spend too much.

I can send you a cleaned-up version of my spreadsheet if you like, though I am not sure I've set it up in the most efficient way.

It's the May bank holiday and I'm in a funny sort of mood. I keep wanting to eat things, stuff that I know is not good for me and I shouldn't be eating.

I got up late but I've had a decent breakfast. I am about to head off to the May Fayre in the village but I'm not sure I want to go. :o

I've pottered about the garden a bit this morning and really would prefer to spend the rest of the day pottering out there but I'm in a funny sort of mood and I don't know what I want to do with myself.

Weird. Hope I return to normal soon. :o
