  • I was up bright and early this morning to visit Mr A and Mr W before the rest of the world decided to do so. Got everything I need for the Easter weekend so we have lots of delicious food to look forward to. :)

We have people around today for some drinks and also have visitors for the Easter weekend. Need to run around the house with a hoover and generally tart the place up a bit so must go and do that instead of hanging around on MSE. :D

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Thanks, Jwil, I have a busy weekend ahead but should be lots of time for some leisure too. We are going out for a meal tonight so that's one dinner I don't need to cook. :)

I am about to go out and sow my next batch of seeds - cucumbers, courgettes and a few flowers. Should have done them last week really but ran out of time. It's one of my favourite jobs so I'm going to potter out to the greenhouse now and do that.

Have lots of other bits and bobs of jobs to get done today. Really should get back to painting the fences but not if I'll get that done.

Hope the weather lasts a bit longer for everyone - it's looking a bit rainy here for tomorrow and Monday. :(

Have a lovely Easter everyone. :icotbaske
  • As expected it is dark and rainy here in [STRIKE]sunny[/STRIKE] Somerset this Easter Sunday - absolutely lashing rain at the moment. However, I am full of a fry-up which we had for brunch, we have slow-cooked lamb lined up for dinner this evening and I am strongly considering breaking into the Easter eggs. :easter_ba

I got loads done yesterday in the garden - all nice enjoyable jobs that didn't involve too much effort. The sweet peas are now in their big pot - I am so looking forward to those flowers in a few weeks time. I sowed the courgettes (green and yellow) and cucumbers. Also sowed some sunflower seeds, some inside in pots, some directly outside. Have got a big terracotta pot into which I've sown some fluffy china asters. Potted up the marigolds and the bush tomatoes. Soooo looking forward to my summer crops - especially the tomatoes and cucumbers - they taste so good. :j

We had a lovely meal out last night, lots of laughs and lots of good food. Will have a relatively lazy day for the rest of the day, methinks. :)

Wishing everyone a lovely Easter Sunday, whatever the weather.
  • Well, I did have rather a lazy day today and consumed perhaps a touch too much chocolate. :o

So I have a to-do list for tomorrow to stop myself having a lazy bank holiday. It is as follows:
    • Get my butt out of bed early and paint some fencing in the morning so it has time to dry before the rain moves in
    • List at least 5 items on ebay
    • List at least 5 books on amazon
    • Book theatre tickets
    • Find out about where to get some nice well-rotted horse manure for free
    • Do some housework jobs
    • Do some admin jobs
I shall return tomorrow and report back. :D

Hey p&f - i too am hoping for a productive day - mine is mainly bay of e and assignment.

Thank you for posting the link to the recipe for me :)

I am jealous (in a nice way) of your cooked brekkie and chocolate consumption - i am hoping for a reduced priced egg in the shops today  we will see though as i do need to save my pennies

Hope the rain has held off for the fence painting x

Hi DDFW - the rain held off all day in fact. When I got up this morning at about 8:30am (early for me :p) I couldn't get started because everything was still wet from the overnight rain. However, I got started at about 11:30 and painted all day until 8:15pm. Even if I say so myself, that deserves a clap :T.

I have finished the summer house and gave the entire fence its first coat of paint. Will see if it needs another.

I'm afraid I didn't do anything else on my list because I spent the whole day painting but it was a good day's work so I'm happy. Now, I'm knackered and I'm back to work in the morning after a long break, so I'm off to bed. :)
  • Well, I've had a spell of being frantically busy, eating too much, spending too much and (if the truth were told) partying too much.

But things are now calming down a bit so I am getting ready to get back to normal. Got paid today which is always a good thing. There was quite a nice chunk of back-pay in it as well as a combination of two pay-rises. I have worked out how it's going to be distributed and it will have a positive impact on my DFD so I will post about that when the month is over.

However, there are some more large expenses coming up and although I have worked out a budget, I really need to earn some extra money. So I really must actually try to sell some stuff in May. My performance in April was a big fat zero, a dismal dismal effort.

Will be back tomorrow with May list of targets - I never did get around to an April one. :o
