  • I have spent a little bit of time moving money around this evening. The good news is that despite a lot of extra expenses this month my debts have gone down not up. This is mainly due to some back pay which I have put to good use. The main result is that I have paid some extra off my credit card and have also increased the monthly regular payment by £50. So my DFD has now moved forward two months to August 2016. :j

Of course, this date is dependent on lots of other factors - the main one being getting a better-paid job before the end of the year. But still, I am very pleased and feel I am making real progress.

The main difference in my finances lately has been the budgeting for irregular expenses - this forward-planning has already made my life so much easier and I know it will be a model I continue to use in the future. :)
  • So I need to come up with my targets for May. Here they are, in no particular order:

    1. Raise £250 through ebay / amazon / car boots / any other form of income I can think of!
    2. Finish painting all the fencing in the garden
    3. Build a bottle garden for the herbs and strawberries
    4. Put down a proper path around the raised beds
    5. Paint the garden bench
    6. Paint the utility-room
    7. Finish renovating the coffee table
    8. Declutter a great deal of the junk in the garage
    9. Do an average of 30 minutes walking every day
    10. Get out on my mountain-bike at least once a week
That'll do for starters. I'll add anything new as it occurs to me. :)
  • Well done on the debt clearing and forward planning - phew you've set yourself some challenging targets for May !! Good luck!!:)

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

So, last night I won another £25 on the Lotto. I've decided that any random amounts of money like this are going straight to the credit card, so I will do that when the money lands in my account.

I really REALLY ought to be trying to get some stuff listed on amazon and ebay so I think I'll toddle off and do that now. Even ONE thing would be a start. :o

The month of May is turning out to be another expensive month but full of trips and exciting things. :j

Thought I'd do an early-morning post for a change. :)

Just about to go down and make a lovely steaming pot of coffee which I shall have with a bit of cream. :coffee: I'm afraid I didn't get my better-eating off to a good start yesterday evening as I was feeling a bit stressed and had a little bit of a mini-binge. However, I am feeling more relaxed today. Did go for a walk yesterday though.

I didn't list anything on ebay or amazon either - I actually had something laid out to photograph for ebay only to find the camera batteries are dead and I can't find the charger. Will have to hunt for that this evening.

Food shopping this evening - think it will be in Mr A, need to bring a couple of things back as well which will help reduce the bill very slightly.

Have a lovely day everyone. :)
