Well, as March is over I can update my sig and I've reduced my o/s debt by a reasonable amount. It may not seem like much but I am on a fairly low income (I was earning more 25 years ago) so I'm quite pleased that I have managed my budget properly in the last month. :j

No movement in my DFD yet but I do hope to eek that forward slightly over the months. Towards the end of this year I intend to look for a better-paid job, once I have got a couple of juicy projects and an expensive training course under my belt. :D I expect my DFD to move closer once that happens.

I am buoyed by reading Brizzle's fab news about now being debt-free. :T And dreaming of when I can post the same news. _party_

Off to bed shortly as I haven't had much sleep in the past few nights. In the next couple of days I hope to do a monthly to-do list a-la DDFW and Tattycath.

Meanwhile, I potted up my tomato seedlings tonight and some lettuce. My garlic is looking great and my beetroot and pea seedlings are beginning to poke their noses up through the compost. So it's all good.

I love love love this time of year. :cool2:
  • Not a lot to report today. Was ridiculously happy to find 5p roadkill on my way to the shops and 1p on the way back - I never usually find roadkill so I took it as a good sign. :D

Sowed loads more seeds this evening after work - lots of flowers mainly. Looking forward to seeing those in full bloom in the summer.

Had a slightly frustrating day at work - you know when you are in a meeting and they are all rambling on about stuff you know nothing about and you think to yourself 'Why am I even here?'.

But overall a pretty good day when all's said and done. :)

It would have been tricky to escape from the meeting but it did make me more determined to avoid meetings like the plague in future. Where I work, people are very keen to set up meetings when really a quick 5-minute chat at someone's desk would sort most things out.

Today was a much better day I must say. Got loads done and found myself looking into some very thorny technical problems, which I absolutely love. :D:j

Yup, will do my best Tattycath. Really need to raise some extra cash and also offload some junk, so I need to roll up my sleeves and get on with it. Won't be able to do any car boots though because every weekend in April is already fully booked.

My DFD will get closer and closer I know - at the moment I am challenging myself to eek it one month closer - will take months just to achieve that but it's a mini-target to aim for.

I haven't sowed my cucumber yet - will leave it another week or two I think. I just sowed some basil yesterday evening so I'll have to see how it goes. I've only got two heated propagators so the rest of the seeds are going to have to germinate without added heat, which is likely to take a while.

The tomato seedlings are looking very promising, lovely and strong and growing nicely. Need to get another batch of lettuce sowed and maybe some spring onions. :)

Meant to add that I pounced on a lovely 1p bit of roadkill (well, supermarket-kill, it was in Waitrose) this evening, only to find it was a little round piece of cardboard. :embarasse :rotfl:

Still, never mind, I got a free cup of Earl Grey and a nice sit-down while the horrendous traffic subsided. Where was everyone going this evening one wonders, or was it just the heavy rain.
  • Well, having said yesterday that it would take me months to move my DFD one month closer - it has happened in one day. :j:j:j

Today I got not only the small payrise that the whole company gets but my job got re-graded and my salary has gone up by a noticeable amount. Which is backdated by quite a few months. :D

I do need that backdated money for some expensive outgoings that are coming up but I will also be able to throw a small bit at the debt. I am also increasing my regular credit card payment by £50 per month based on my estimated new income - both these measures bring my DFD forward to August 2016.

I am not updating my sig until I've got the money in my hot little hands but it's definitely good news and a step in the right direction. :)
