    Hey P&F,

Hopefully i'll be able to join you outdoors soon as i have just about decluttered all my stuff indoors now :T Just got to guide my Mr through his clutter - only the stuff i can see which needs moving rather than going through drawers etc. He is actually usually quite good at decluttering his things its just all the stuff that is out and needs to be moved that causes the mess.

You have achieved loads as jwil says and good for you not getting overwhelmed with it all - its why i break stuff down into sections :)

I have 3 mobile phones very old or very cheap which i need to declutter not sure what to do with them and my pile of uni stuff which will pretty much be decluttered at the end of uni - can;t really part with it before then

I need to protect our fences but i'm not really sure what to do / use - never done it before  but never had a fence before either

Hope all is well with you. I do know what you mean about it making a big difference when there are 2 of you working together - i think it more than halves the burden due to how it makes you feel as well x

That's amazing that you have nearly decluttered inside - I am a long way from that at the moment.
I need to protect our fences but i'm not really sure what to do / use - never done it before  but never had a fence before either

I say I am 'painting' the fence but is really just wood stain, which sinks in and protects it for a while as well as making it look nicer. There's not much to it when it comes to painting - it's the prep that takes the time. You need to make sure the fence is washed down and any algae scrubbed off. Then let it dry out before painting.

Depending on its current condition you may need more than one coat. So make sure you buy enough paint. :)
  • Hi folks, Sorry I've been AWOL for a while - have been really under the weather but feeling a little bit better today.

I have achieved virtually nothing in the last week, which is deeply unimpressive. We are still spending too much on food so I need to really make an effort to plan things better. I haven't done the food shopping this week yet so I am going to sit down this evening, plan out a week's meals and then shop accordingly. Otherwise we end up going into a supermarket and spending far too much and having far too little to show for it. :(

On the plus side, lots of my seeds are germinating and I've moved some out to the greenhouse so they get more light. Will have to take the tomatoes in at night though because it looks like it's going to be chilly over the next few nights.

Hopefully I will get my mo-jo back over the weekend and throw myself properly into everything next week. :)

I've popped onto everyone's diaries to say hello. Have a lovely weekend everyone. :)

    Hi Brizzled,

Thanks so much for dropping in - I need some people cheering me on from the sidelines. :D
  • Yesterday was another rather fruitless day, largely because I was still feeling so under the weather.

Today I am a bit better but not ready to take on heavy work so I have designated it 'Housework Day'. There is loads to do because I have neglected it of late. In fact, I am such a slattern that I think I will join the Flylady thread to give me a kick up the bum. :)

So lots of bathrooms to clean, floors to hoover and wash, laundry, ironing etc. What an exciting life I lead. :D

The good thing, if it's all done today then tomorrow, which I have off, can be spent doing more interesting stuff. :)
  • I meant to say that recently I have taken a bit step forward in my debt-busting journey - I have closed my only 'spending' credit card account. (I do have a balance-transfer card which I never use and was cut in half as soon as I got it.)

This feels like an enormous step into the unknown for me because I have always had that safety net of the credit card to fall back on in the past. I cannot remember when I last didn't have a credit card in my wallet but we are talking probably around 28 years!

Indeed, it is the use of a credit card that has endlessly got me into this mess:
"Don't have the money for something right now - never mind, just slap it on the credit card, even if it's something you don't really need. You're worth it."

It is not so horribly scary in that I have got a bit more control of my spending lately, have created proper budgets and am trying hard to stick to them. Lots more work to do there but I am doing so much better than I was.

I have been in debt on and off for most of my adult life (and I'm not even counting the mortgage here). It's time to stop. And living without my credit card I think means that I have FINALLY reached my real bona-fide LBM!

Well done p&f :T you have worked out the right step for you and taken it :j Sorry you have been ill but i am glad to hear you are feeling better now :) I contemplated housework today but am too tired now so will do tomorrow... or tuesday... :rotfl: One thing i have noticed though is that it is super quick to do as its so tidy there are no 'extra' jobs like moving things first :D As i am thinking i don't want to stop when i am so nearly there i *may* treat myself to an hour in the garden next week. The problem i find is that it is so hard to keep it to just an hour but i will need to be disciplined as i have such a heavy uni workload. I might work just on the pots...

Hope today has been productive :)
