Car Unlocking Myth
Comments
-
While its true that door locks and security were far from robust right up until the late 80's (remember Halfords selling numbered keys on a rack) and most mass produced locks would relinquish with a twist of a similar key, the tennis ball is a well debunked myth.
Even with central locking like Mercs and VW, puffing air into the door had no effect on their vacuum systems and every other door was entirely unsealed, so the air would blow around in the door and definitely not jiggle the locks.
