This does work but only in good weather conditions. The static discharge from rain clouds affects the signal. Try again when the weather is more settled.

It's amazing how gullible people can be. I can remember telling someone that 2 minutes in a microwave on high would turn their mobile phone into a speed camera detector :A

The tennis ball certainly worked on Vauxhall Cavaliers in the late 80's- I watched the RAC do it when my Dad got locked out of his.

Works because they tend to fire omnidirectionally and your skull, being a round object acts as an amplifier. No different to putting a speaker in a cabinet.

+1. I did it on a Ford Orion back in the day. I worked in vehicle recovery and we had a wonderful book of tricks that came with a set of tools which included......... 1/2 a tennis ball!

I won't tell the vintage porsche owners how simple they were to get into :eek:
