been into work - although I knew they were working on the alarms I was not aware they had changed the code box - walked in to an alarmed building to find a BLANK WALL:eek:
mucho heart thumping as I now know I am seconds away from activating the thing - spot a box on a different wall - open it - number pad's the same BUT the 'other' buttons aren't. Instructions are there in teeny tiny font...anyway put the code in and had a feeling it was only partly off (turns out this was right!) - had another go and decided I had done it...and I had.
Heart thumped for a good 10 minutes. Deputy head then turned up, so she talked me through resetting it but as I was leaving her in the building I wasn't worried!
Files I meant to bring home Friday and thought I had brought located, also correct sheets found and printed. Came home.

As a footnote I have frequently triggered the alarm in this building!

Thank you; yes I did, in the form of a Hot Toddy, because I've been coughing and spluttering a bit for the last couple of days.

Mr LW has done the monthly trip to the Farmers Market today, so I had a merry time playing Fridge Tetris when he got back; I've since made a Qu0on, cheese and tomato quiche (using some of the unpasteurised cream from the Farmers Market - yum!); Mr LW is currently giving the car it's weekly once-over; he's cleaned the compost caddy, and there's still the bath-lift to clean, and the weekly pile of ironing to do. We actually iron very little, mainly just his work shirts and trousers, so he does them on a Sunday, enough to last the week.

    Gah.

Took kids to m@talan, for DD leggings. Mum came too. There was a display of cuddly toys. You can imagine the rest. DS picked one up, so DD followed. Usually I will let them have a cuddle then say "ok put them back with their friends now" but mum chirped in "I will treat them" well of course the kids heard, so DD is now not letting go, and DS says "I want a different toy". They don't play with teddies, never have. Mum knows this :( So now DS is looking at the toy shelf, all of which are over £25 and for older children. He doesn't want a teddy. But DD has been told by granny she can have hers.

So we leave the shop, DS upset and feeling left out, DD with a toy she doesn't really want, me trying to keep the peace and mum going home crying because she's upset DS and I've to deal with him. Gah.

On the plus side, both are tucking into chicken, roasties and veg, two nearly empty plates here. DS now has £4 in his piggy bank to put toward something special, or to take on holiday, and DD discarded her doggie as soon as she came through the door.

At least I managed to get her some leggings, tops and a cardi for her hols, plus another sheet for DS bed.

I have explained he can't have something every time we go out, and he had a birthday just a month ago. He was sad coming home but hasn't sulked. When he came downstairs he said "it doesn't matter, mum" bless him :A

Oh for a simple life, eh?

Right, kitchen is full of dinner stuff - off I go!

Have mended my trousers - well one pair (I prefer trousers for work) - took me a few days to work out what the problem was, actually - the zip had become unstitched and have ironed so the stuff will air when the heating kicks in (was slightly damp) no washing on the line today; two loads through TD - but all the bedding was line dried yesterday and most of it ironed and away now.
I have done no actual cleaning other than S&S in the bathroom - there just isn't time...

Having a break for a cuppa - doing OK so far I think, but running out of steam now. I will do the paperwork jobs now & ironing later & ebay packing ast as some are still active.

    This is todays list:
Plant out the flowers I bought last weekend into pots.
Pack up the ebay sellings that end today (8/55 so far selling - not a great result)
Sort our my holiday plan a bit - we're DIYing a road trip & I've lost the plot on what else I need to book and budget for.
    Sort out some paperwork.
    HHI x4
    [STRIKE]TD x1[/STRIKE]
Remove any marks from the walls/paintwork - the magic erasers work well DS has a paper round & his black fingerprints are EVERYWHERE :mad: I have asked DS to do this in the hope that it will make him think twice in future. I'm still waiting ;)
[STRIKE]Sort out a pile of papers/magazines/catalogues and recylce what you can[/STRIKE] I sorted a massive pile of paperwork from my office & DD has shredded about half before the shredded got a bit hot. I can see floor!! :j
Delete some emails, favourites, blurry photos you choose
    [STRIKE]Clear the bedroom floor[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Sort out the piles and piles of shoes that have accumulated. Surely they cannot all fit DD [/STRIKE] threw away 3 pairs & will ebay 1 pair later.:D

Felt like a taxi service today running the kids to and from parties! Better get used to it I suppose. Just logged onto the local council school admissions page just in case they've put the school place offer on a bit early - of course it's empty :o. Going to do lasagne for dinner tonight, do DD's hair when she's back from the swimming party and try to get to Church tonight as I could do with feeling tranquil.

Once again you've all put me to shame with what you've got done; I'm a lazy old thing really.
