Minimal spends the last 2 days as I've been at work. One more work day to go then off for a day, then pay day- woo hoo! Hoping I get a decent unsocial hours payment this month...

Need to buy a travel card tomorrow though...

Reckon I'll hit pay day with £250 saved. Not bad for someone who's usually hundreds in down!

    Happy Easter xx

    Morning!

I am not feeling at all motivated today, need to sort it out!! I need to be sorting out my coursework and handing the !!!!!! in (which will make me feel better) yet I just don't want to go near it on the other hand. Been floating around on here, reading diaries for the past hour!

Booked a flight yesterday. Actually 2 flights, one for me, one for OH. We will definitely have a summer holiday, come what may so I figured I may as well get the flights now while they are relatively cheap.

This has of course screwed up my save £300 by pay day plan. Well it's pay day tomorrow so I shall worry about that then. I have paid off my credit card, lived within my means and not got into any more debt this month so all is not lost!

Right, going to have a coffee and breakfast, maybe then I'll be motivated!

Have a good day everyone xx

    Hello!

Ahhh, pay day has arrived :)
£300 in un social hours payment- great!

Round up from last month- finished the month with £0 on my credit card- usually its around £600! Didn't save anything as I'd planned, but I did buy 2 flights to Lanzarote at £85 each. So had I not done that, I'd have saved £170. Means I overspent on my budget by £130. Easy to say where this went- mainly food due to not being organised and taking my own with me/not bringing enough with me.

Sooooo, what next? I have put my £300 USH payment into a savings account. I will pay OH rent money into that account weekly. New goal- £940 to be in the savings account by next pay day. Goal no 2- don't buy any food at work in the next 4 weeks.

This leaves me with £100/week to spend until next payday (travel already paid for).

    Xx

Spends today- £3. On food at work I have to confess! Problem is, I work a 12 hour shift and have a 1 hour 15 minute commute at either end so need to take 15 hours worth of food with me (and I like my food!) I already bring 2 sandwiches with me so maybe I'll try bringing a bowl of pasta along as well.

Day off tomorrow :) Must try not to spend, I'm feeling a bit flush after pay day but there's still a lot of month left before the next one!

Hope everyone else's money saving/ debt busting activities are going well..

    Xx

Spends today- 75p! Had to buy a kitkat chunky at work, I was seriously flagging. The three servings of sandwiches that I bought in with me did the trick. Wasn't even hungry for dinner when I got home.

Also started writing the dreaded exam essay, just need to go to the library tomorrow but hopefully things are looking up in that department.

Aiming for another low spend day tomorrow. I'm off work but got a busy day that won't allow for spending money. Just need to put some food on the table in the evening but I plan to go for something seriously cheap. Will also need to buy baguettes for the next day at work.

Should really buy my months travel card as well, will help with the budgeting as the money won't be sitting in my account making me feel richer than I am!

    Night all xx

    Morning!

    Jobs for today:
    Pay rent
    Buy minced beef
    Buy a baguette
    Buy travel card
    Hand in assignment no.1
Go to the gym- with sandwiches, no eating out!!

So far so moneysaving... Still need to get into keeping to a budget. Haven't done anything at all exciting since pay day and I can see my funds going down. I spent £45 in Boots the other day, all on essential items and of course I made sure I got a healthy amount of points, but still I've noticed that you can't afford to do stuff like that too often when on a budget. I'm hoping that my not buying lunch at work idea will save a sufficient amount of money that I can stick to the budget.

Enough rambling from me, need to get cracking, there's rumours of the tube strike starting earlier than planned and don't want to get caught out!

    xx

Hey well done on the lunches! I find it tricky enough to pack for 1-2 meals. But think at £2-3 a time how much you save.

I have been rinsing the waitrose free coffee, saving myself at least £8 a week. Bad coffee habit.

I have to admit though there's never a time I spend £45 at boots. Seems like a lot of money, would you get any cheaper at super drug?

Hi Hohum, thanks for dropping by... I love the waitrose coffee thing too, just wish that I passed one on my way to work then it'd be a daily freebie! £45 in Boots does seem a lot I know, but I tend to stock pile items that I know I'll use. I had a get 400 points if you spend £40 voucher so I deliberately spent that much to get the points. Could be a false economy I know!
