Oh my! I'm a moneysaving stalwart!!
Had the most hideous day at work today, totally stitched up by my colleague yesterday who seemed to have done very little. Which led me to spend £2.40 on a coke and a brownie, just to have the energy to complete all my jobs...
Budget in the bank £20. Cash in purse around £10. Shame I have such an expensive weekend coming up....

Day off today. Need to be out and about to go to the gym and go to the library at uni. Money saving plan for the day:
Make some sandwiches to take with me.
Buy train tickets for the weekend using RSH voucher.
Use vouchers when out to dinner with friend tonight.
Have free waitrose coffee after the gym.

            Hi Menina,
I've just been reading your diary and it seems we have the same problem when it comes to spending, i.e. the eating and drinking out!
I also can easily spend 200-300 a month on this. I work in Oxford Mon-Fri and so spend most week nights home alone, which is good as I don't spend much then, but at weekends I go back to my home city (Bristol) to see friends and family and end up spending the whole weekend socializing in pubs and cafes. This is great fun and nice after not seeing people during the week, but very expensive!
I always end up going to the cashpoint to get more money out. I have no will power! Looks like I'll have to leave the debit card at home next time so I can't overspend.
I'll be following your diary, maybe we can exchange tips!

It is crazy how much eating/drinking can cost! But it's so much fun....
I'll be checking in on you..

            Only spent £5 today

Had £20 of food in zizzi with my Tesco voucher
Finally worked out how to take books out of the uni library and saved about £100 borrowing books that I thought I'd have to buy..
Now I just need to make the time this weekend to read them...

Today will be expensive theres no getting away from it. Will be £80 in train ticks/ railcard
Just hope OH contributes somewhere along the line to lessen the burden...
Didn't wake up in time for the gym today, I will study for a couple of hours instead (which I need to do more).
Going to try not to think of the money and enjoy the weekend!

hope you dont mind a stalker, sounds like your doing well and motivated, these £10 a day, give it a month or so and your be able to have some extra.
Have u thought of opening online accounts to transfer money into - bit like piggie banks so you can transfer in for each bit. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
            I welcome stalkers mum2one
I do the thing with on line accounts that you mentioned, it helps keep track of things...
Well, as predicted the budget was blown this weekend! Ended up spending £90 (so far). Although, thinking about it, I had £40 I was 'allowed' to spend on Friday and then I've got the £10 a day budget after this, so I think I'm £30 overspent. Problem is, I need to buy food for the week so might be anther £18. So I will be £50 overspent. Wound have to manage 3 NSDs to bring it down to a more manageable £20. Argh!!
This seems to be the problem with managing on a budget, it only takes one big spend to derail the whole thing....
Off to the gym to not spend any money!!
