The Glenmorangie Company own Glen Moray, which is a Speyside distillery.

Ah. That explains it. I've seen "Glen Moray" on "offer" before in supermarkets. It's usually cut price but certainly never at a fiver. I got 6 bottles a week ago

I got 6 bottles in Watford last Monday...couldn't post because I was away. The case does mention Burn Stewart Distillers. If you want to see what they make, google them.

Been through Burn Stewart and no mention of speyside!
With its head office and bottling hall based in East Kilbride near Glasgow, and, with three distilleries; Deanston in Doune, Perthshire; Bunnahabhain on the Isle of Islay; and Tobermory based on the Isle of Mull, Burn Stewart produces and markets a well balanced range of Scotch whisky brands to appeal to every type of Scotch consumer.

Even if Glen Moray is in the capital of speyside, it's on the river Lossie so they're stretching things a bit to say it's a Speyside don't you think?
  • Still available in Milky Beans (well, was over the w/e) - it's in its own cabinet by the alcopops.

In the UK, Burn Stewart focuses on selling own label whisky to Marks & Spencer, Asda and Waitrose, accounting for 85% of its non- Korean volumes.

Could be a great new label though. Would Bill Murray do the commercial?

Received a call back from Customer Services only 5 minutes after my call to them. Apparently this offer was available in ASDA Superstores only! BUT they still have a small amount left in stock at the Central Depot and are asking the grocery manager at High Wycombe if he will accept some! Then they will reinstate my order - pretty good CS I'd say - even if it doesn't work!
The remaining stock (70 cases) was delivered to High Wycombe Store on Tuesday. I had been phoning daily so see what was happening but nobody seemed to know anything about it. But surprise, yesterday spoke to Bill (wines & spirits manager) and he said it had been delivered and he would put 2 cases with Customer Services Desk for me! Went up there to collect yesterday afternoon and they still had about 20 cases on diplay, so added another one (6 bottles in each). So all in all very good PR for ASDA and 12 x bottles of Malt for me! (let my mate have 6). Thanks again to 'chopra' for the original post.
