Malt Whisky-£5 for 70cl-40 proof

got 6 bottles yesterday for a party on friday from coventry walsgrave and there were about 100 on the shelf went back last night to get another 6 people at work and there were about 10 left,the man from the spirit section said they were selling it as a loss leader on fathers day for £9 but hardly sold any the same when they reduced it to £7,it was only now its £5 it is shifting,
he also says it is made by glenmorangie ,

I doubt that. The glenmorangie distillery is near Tain on the Dornoch Firth. It's a long way from Speyside I'm afraid but it could easily have come from a well known whisky "name"

Never got the Malt Whisky, but they substituted them with Asda Scotch Whisky for the same price, should have been £8.98 a bottle!

Just a quick THANK YOU to Chopra for the original posting. I placed an on-line order yesterday (thought I might as well do a full shop) and the shopping and whisky has been delivered this afternoon. Hubby is dead chuffed , he says at a fiver it is more than acceptable. Cheers!

I too took the plunge and have bought 3 bottles of the stuff. Taste's rather nice. Asda Walsgrave Coventry had atleast 50 bottles on the shelf yesterday.

Ordered 6 bottles on Monday - Had a call from my local store this morning (High Wycombe) to say that they did not stock this so could not supply! Offered an alternative at £20 odd per bottle. Told them to cancel the order but that I would be contacting Trades Description people. Phoned their Customer Services on freephone and they gave out the usual garbage - order subject to availability in local store. Promised to phone me back!

Received a call back from Customer Services only 5 minutes after my call to them. Apparently this offer was available in ASDA Superstores only! BUT they still have a small amount left in stock at the Central Depot and are asking the grocery manager at High Wycombe if he will accept some! Then they will reinstate my order - pretty good CS I'd say - even if it doesn't work!

Got 12 bottles this morning but replaced with Smartprice-instore as &7.68 but receipt shows £6.98 per bottle.
Will use up 1st and save my other(from recent 40th bash)stuff for later.

The Glenmorangie Company own Glen Moray, which is a Speyside distillery.
